2024.05.23 11:46 bostonmovingcompany Best Moving Strategies: A Comprehensive Guide

Packing up a lifetime of memories and moving to a new home can be an emotional rollercoaster. For Sarah and John, this was especially true. They had lived in their charming Boston brownstone for over a decade, but with a new job opportunity in sunny Florida, it was time for a big change. The couple was overwhelmed by the daunting task ahead—sorting, packing, and transporting their belongings. But with some strategic planning and expert advice from Premium Q Moving and Storage, Sarah and John’s move was not only manageable but surprisingly smooth. This guide shares the best moving strategies they learned, helping countless families like yours make their move a seamless experience.

Why Strategic Planning is Crucial

Strategic planning is the backbone of any successful move. According to the American Moving & Storage Association, nearly 35.5 million Americans move annually. With so many people on the move, a solid plan can make the difference between chaos and calm. Here are the best moving strategies to ensure your transition is smooth and stress-free.

Best moving strategies:

1. Start Early

Why It’s Important
Starting early is one of the best moving strategies you can employ to ensure a smooth and efficient transition to your new home. By giving yourself ample time to sort through your belongings, you can make well-considered decisions about what to keep, donate, or sell. This proactive approach helps prevent the stress and chaos that often accompany last-minute packing. Procrastination can lead to hasty decisions, which not only increases the risk of damaging your valuables but also makes the entire moving process more overwhelming and less organized.
Tips for Getting Started

2. Declutter Before Packing

Why It’s Important
One of the best moving strategies to ensure a smoother and more efficient move is to declutter before you start packing. Moving is the perfect opportunity to go through your belongings and decide what you truly need and what you can let go of. Decluttering can significantly reduce the number of items you need to move, which in turn saves you time, money, and effort. Less stuff means fewer boxes to pack, transport, and unpack. It can also lower the cost of moving services, as most moving companies charge based on the volume of items or the total weight of the load.
Tips for Decluttering

3. Pack Strategically

Why It’s Important
One of the best moving strategies is to pack your belongings strategically. Proper packing is crucial for preventing damage to your items during transit and making the unpacking process much more manageable. Without a strategic approach, you risk ending up with broken items, a chaotic move, and a frustrating unpacking experience. Strategic packing ensures that your belongings are protected and that you can easily find what you need when you arrive at your new home.
Tips for Packing

4. Hire Professional Movers

Why It’s Important
One of the best moving strategies is to hire professional movers. Professional movers bring a wealth of expertise, efficiency, and resources that can make your move significantly easier. Their experience in handling various types of moves means they can anticipate and address potential issues before they become problems, ensuring a smoother transition. With professionals handling the heavy lifting, packing, and transportation, you can focus on other important aspects of your move, such as settling into your new home.
Tips for Hiring Movers

5. Protect Fragile Items

Why It’s Important
One of the best moving strategies is to ensure the protection of your fragile items. These delicate possessions require extra care to avoid breakage during the move. Fragile items, such as glassware, ceramics, and electronics, are susceptible to damage from even minor impacts. By implementing protective measures, you can safeguard these valuables and prevent costly replacements or repairs.
Tips for Protecting Fragile Items

6. Utilize Technology

Why It’s Important
Embracing technology is one of the best moving strategies to streamline the moving process and maintain organization. Modern moving apps and digital tools can significantly reduce the stress and complexity associated with moving by providing structure and accessibility to important information.
Tips for Using Technology

7. Stay Organized on Moving Day

Why It’s Important
Staying organized on moving day is one of the best moving strategies to minimize stress and ensure a smooth transition. An organized approach helps prevent chaos, keeps everyone on task, and ensures that nothing important is overlooked or forgotten.
Tips for Moving Day

8. Unpack Systematically

Why It’s Important
Unpacking systematically is one of the best moving strategies to help you settle into your new home quickly and comfortably. A methodical approach prevents overwhelm and ensures that your new space is organized from the start.
Tips for Unpacking

9. Set Up Your New Home

Why It’s Important
Setting up your new home quickly is one of the best moving strategies to reduce the chaos of moving and help you feel settled.
Tips for Setting Up

10. Take Care of Yourself

Why It’s Important
Moving can be physically and emotionally taxing. Taking care of yourself ensures you stay healthy and can handle the stress of moving.
Tips for Self-Care

Conclusion: Your Smooth Move Awaits

2024.05.23 11:46 mle32000 Rover pet sitting app - dog death

This is my first time posting here so I apologize if anything about my formatting or question is not correct
A good friend of mine in the Atlanta area used the Rover pet sitting app and the sitters negligence resulted in the dog being killed. They left their front door open, lost the dog, and hours later found it dead in the road a few streets over.
My friend is obviously distraught but I am encouraging her to take action as I feel these people should pay for their absolute failure in caring for her animal. She has already gone through the process with Rover and they removed the sitters from their app but that seems to be the only action they plan on taking.
I don’t want to send my broken hearted friend on a wild legal goose chase if it’s likely that it won’t go anywhere, please advise on if this is worth her time to pursue , and what type of lawyer would be appropriate. Thank you.

2024.05.23 11:45 ProfessionalGap67 Found less than a week after honeymoon that my wife has been cheating on me

I 29M found out right after honeymoon that wife 28F cheated
I've been with my wife for 4.5 years, and married for 3 months now. Just found out she's been cheating on me with the son of a family friend.
I remember two years into dating, she started being distant, and I suspected it had something to do with him, but she somehow convinced me there was nothing going on. In hindsight, I remember that she treated me like shit for three months during that time when she was actually sleeping with him multiple times a week. This was during a family wedding of hers in our home country (we had moved abroad and been living together in a different continent for a year by this point), which he and his family (even my parents) were also invited to, while I was at home waiting for her.
To top it all off, I find out that this guy was her first love, a relationship that supposedly ended badly. She tells me after coming back from the wedding when I confront her about her behaviour that she was confused about us when she saw him after so many years and that nothing happened between them except that they would talk and she used the opportunity to find closure. My dumb ass believed it because I naively thought she wouldn’t risk it all as her family love us together, know about their past and would suspect anything suspicious, and that she wouldn’t risk it all after we’ve made big moves like moving in together in another country to improve our lives.
I know all her exes by name—except him. Turns out she had an abortion, and he was the dad before we met. She told me about the pregnancy but said it was with another ex. I’m also annoyed because her family knows their history and kept him close, hiding this from me. I suppose they didn't want to set boundaries when I came into the picture, first as a boyfriend, then as their man she lives together with, then fiancé, and now husband.
All of this was confessed through a rigorous trickle truthing process over 3 months when I found messages inviting him over while I was abroad for work. She specifically mentions me by my initial and that I’m not in town. This was less than a week after our honeymoon (!) and 3 days after I left for my trip.
To give further background, wife and I grew up together and have known each other for close to 20 years. Our families are also close before we got married (not to the extent of AP’s family) but our parents have known each other and been good friends even before we were born.

2024.05.23 11:43 Southern_Sleep_5203 AITA for not attending my friends birthday drinks

I (22 F) and my partner (22 M) was invited to my friends (22F) birthday drinks in another city which I said I would attend. At the time I was also dog sitting, usually I’d be able to leave the dogs alone for hours without concern but this time one of the dogs is suffering with a few health conditions so shouldn’t be left alone for longer than about 4-5 hours max. Baring in mind the drive there is an hour and a half and the drive back would be even longer due to an event going on in my city. My original plan was to ask my partners brother to look after the dogs whilst we we went so they wouldn’t be alone as he’d met them before however a couple of weeks before he went to Australia and decided he was going to extend his trip rather than come back as planned so I tried to make other arrangements such as getting my dad to look after them. I kept my friend in the loop the whole time and had even brought everything to attend (it was a themed event) My dad wasn’t sure for a while as he had something to attend and he let me know the day before he couldn’t. I didn’t tell my friend on the day I found out due to it being her actual birthday, she was busy and I didn’t want to ruin her day My friend text me on the day saying “I’m guessing you can’t come” I let her know and told her I’d make it up to her as I’m off work for the majority of June so it would be easier to plan something. Since that day she’s been so distant and blunt baring in mind we use to chat loads about everything and anything and now we can barely have a conversation in one day. If it was closer I wouldn’t have had any problems with leaving the dogs but the drive being 3+ hours alone it just wouldn’t have been justifiable. I don’t drive and wouldn’t have been able to afford another transport up to her so it isn’t like I could’ve gone up and my partner looked after the dogs. I’d rather her tell me she’s upset, we discuss it and sort it out rather than this distant hardly talking.
I believe I’m TA for letting her know so late but it was a situation where I tried everything I could and kept her updated throughout. But don’t think i’m TA for the reasons why I couldn’t.
EXTRA INFO - It wasn’t just me and my partner attending there was a bunch of other people she’d told me that were attending & I’d agreed to dog sit in December so it wasn’t a last minute thing.

2024.05.23 11:40 Consistent_Annual315 Well so far I forgot to account numbers in the packet that I mailed. So I'm calling in to add that data

Yeah so it's as confusing so if the income changes then Medicaid social security the DHHR and housing needs to know. So I'm waiting on that and may take a while for the appeal or waiver because I asked social security to look into these assets and maybe have an auditor over it or somebody that knows their stuff I've been waiting on legal aid in Oklahoma since November 2021 and I've been waiting and waiting and since then I was evicted, case management abandoned me, I lived in my car for several months, looked everywhere for housing, I overcame pleurisy lung abscesses and pneumonia, and then there was a t-bone car accident where God crushed that lemon of a car. And I fell through the cracks and got lost and at least social security and other agencies are trying to catch up and I'm trying to catch up with them. The administrative tasks after being homeless and the level of loss and scarcity and lack that I have in my life? I operate on survival issues not thriving and flourishing issues. Everybody else is actively in life and I'm over here not actively in life because I don't have the tools necessary to succeed in my nation and I cannot fix that I am disabled. From 2021 into 2023 were several unneeded and reportable medicaid fraud in 10/2022,11/2022 hospitalizations -these petty little hospitalizations were by an office that made sure to run out of time for a 90-day emergency housing voucher they pissed around in a holding pattern while the landlord gave six negative rental references elongating my homeless life. She was a racist that checked off the Latino box she judged my last name she said she can take my housing and I said to her about you checked off the Latino box I'm Caucasian she said no you're not you're not white, I said my mother is Serbian my father is Italian, remove the check mark from the Latino box because you are making a clerical error. And for that you got it evict me that's what she did all because I made one minor correction of her mistake because she's a little racist hater and that's all she is just like a lot of them a bunch of Karen's a bunch of Karen's that just hate on Medicaid recipients and hate on the disadvantaged or the poor I don't know I don't care but wherever that place was? I filmed all of my art I got everything I wanted and I did everything I wanted to do, every day is the best day of my life as I'm alone with my mental health care it's just me and my care plan and me and my pills, My healthcare is all I can manage, supplies are scarce food is scarce and yeah I hope I see my 50s and 60s I'm just telling you that from a trajectory point of view and statistics, that bipolar people only live maybe 67 maybe 50 I've known many people that pass away between 50 and 55 with the trajectory and medications that I've taken all of my life. So listen everybody I take care of myself I see my doctor this is nothing new to me and this is new only to you, I've been managing for over two decades. And whenever it's a non-medical professional, I get judged, maligned, put down, the passive aggressive digs (?) , I sever ties with anybody we're uptight about their bodies and uptight about healthcare and resistant towards accepting the human story and the living hell that it can be: go get the education go spend the money go by the houses go by The cars. Then work and work and get fired for falling sick. My nation is fundamentally unsupportive and that's what millions of Americans are finding. I also want to say that if it wasn't for the affordable Care act, medicaid, social security, the dhhr, the food banks, the churches, the clothing giveaways I would be dead in America I can't survive here for much longer and it's just getting more and more difficult as time goes on. I just work on what little inner peace I have left and take my medication and try to nourish myself the best that I can. I do not have the tools or the abilities to be successful in America and I'm tired of feeling ashamed for that there is no shame in my outcomes, I've tried my best and I somehow feel that my life is cut short because of my healthcare trajectories, I wish I had a family that got me the help that I needed I wish they told me about endometriosis I wish they told me about a lot of things, it's okay that they didn't that's what I have to accept.
I spent time in therapy and several therapists have said to me that they feel that they're failing with me. So that's how therapy goes I depressed the therapist, so not sure how they can work me through anything because they themselves really can't help me. See therapy has to do with talking something out bringing whatever is the back of your mind to the center of your mind and there's just broken parts of my brain that I can't fix and I can't therapy and I can't medicate, I just can't overcome certain aspects of my healthcare, and I've accepted that.

2024.05.23 11:39 cdl1996 Not sure what to think in this situation and could use advice

Hi! I’m a 28F from LA and have had a tough time finding a long term relationship here, so I’ve been single since college (not counting situationships). I’ve tried to be a bit more selective when dating rather than settling for someone who I don’t think is my person, but it’s gotten me nowhere, especially because most of the good/mature guys I’d go for in LA are already taken or won’t settle down lol.
Now onto my current situation where I have NO clue what to think…better buckle up for this one!
In February I was in Nashville for a girls trip. One of my friends with me on the trip had a college friend who lived in Atlanta and was also visiting Nashville that weekend with a group of friends all from Atlanta. We met up with them at a bar, and one of them was this guy who caught my eye immediately…so of course I asked my friend about him. She told me that he was single and that we were very similar personalities and very much each other’s type haha.
After that, one thing led to another. We had a blast hanging out together all weekend and ended up hooking up as well. The next morning (Sunday), we hung out for a bit, got Starbucks (lol we were hungover af ok), then he drove me back to my Airbnb and hung out for a little before he had to drive back to Atlanta.
He told me that he had a wedding to go to in LA in July and that he’d love to see me then which was exciting. A little after he left, he texted me and we continued talking for a week or so before I stopped answering. I was nervous that if I kept talking to him I’d start to get the feels and July felt really far away at the time so it didn’t seem super worth it to me. It was basically my way of putting my guard up…
Almost a month later in March, he posted on his IGS in Vegas and I responded joking that he should make a stop in LA after. This led to us talking again via IG over the course of the past two months nonstop and he asked if I would be his +1 at the wedding when he was in LA. Ever since I agreed to be, the convo has progressed more and more and we have gotten to know each other pretty well. Everything with us has flowed sooo easily and our banter never really hits a dead end haha. We’ve even had lighthearted convos about him potentially moving to LA after the trip, he’s joked about meeting my parents aka his “future in-laws”, and he’s made comments about me being his future wife.
Yesterday we had our first FaceTime which he intiated to start planning for the weekend he’ll be in LA and to chat about wedding festivities. We talked about the trip and ended up planning for him to be in SoCal with me for almost two weeks with trips to San Diego, Joshua Tree, and Newport in the mix.
I’ve had long distance flings before after meeting someone once on a trip and it usually fizzles if I don’t see them again in the near future…but this feels different in many ways. What I’m confused about is if he actually means what he’s been saying hinting about a potential future with me, because I definitely think we’re extremely compatible and I see the potential (I truthfully think he’s a perfect match for me if we lived in the same city🥲) but I don’t want to get hurt if he doesn’t actually mean it. I’d almost rather not go with him to the wedding at this point if he’s just looking for a fun date and for it to not really mean anything to him, after it’s starting to mean something to me and since he’s led me on to think that. I wouldn’t be overthinking this situation this much if I didn’t feel strongly about him…
What should I do? Is there a way to bring this up without it being weird? Any advice is appreciated :)

2024.05.23 11:37 vengeance481 [REQUEST][STEAM] Batman Arkham Collection (85% off) [2nd Attempt]

I've been a fan of Batman ever since I saw him on the big screen in Batman v Superman back when I was 7. Now I'm 16 and im still a huge fan of him. He's my favourite superhero, so when I found out there were Batman games, I knew I HAD to check them out. So I researched a bit about them, and I was awestruck by how epic the games were. Lemme tell you why exactly I want to play the Batman Arkham games and why theyre so cool -
  1. The Gritty Vibe
Arkham Asylum, City and Knight all have amazing map design. It encapsulates the vibe of the location and nails it perfectly. Gotham City is a concrete jungle where crime festers like week-old pizza. Rain-soaked streets, flickering neon signs, and shadows that swallow you whole—it’s the perfect backdrop for a brooding vigilante. Arkham nails that vibe, and I’m all about it. It perfectly encapsulates what Gotham is and I can't wait to explore it.
  1. Suit Up as the Dark Knight
Imagine gliding across rooftops, cape billowing, and grappling up skyscrapers. And the gadgets? Oh, baby. Batarangs for days, Batclaw for those hard-to-reach ledges, and the Batmobile—your personal rocket on wheels ( apparently the controls kinda suck tho)
  1. Rogues’ Gallery
Let’s talk villains. Joker, the cackling chaos agent. Two-Face, the coin-flipping enigma. Poison Ivy, green and gorgeous (but deadly). And Riddler—think Sudoku meets Saw. His riddles are like brain workouts with a side of danger. And theres so many other villains in his rougues gallery that must me put down.
  1. Detective Mode: Sherlock Wayne
Batman’s not just biceps and gadgets; he’s got brains too. Toggle “Detective Mode,” and suddenly everything lights up. Clues, hidden doors, and criminal records—it’s like having X-ray vision. Certainly reminds you of the detecitve part of Batman, after all, he is the worlds greatest detective.
  1. Boss Battles That Punch Harder Than Bane
The boss battles in this game are something to remember. Being chased by Croc in the sewers, or beating up Mr. Freeze, Arkham's got a plethora of epic boss fights.
In conclusion, I want to play Batman: Arkham Collection because of its amazing boss fights and side quests, its epic villains and of course, being the BATMAN. As you can see from my username, im a Batman fan myself, so I regret not trying out the game sooner. Sadly, I cant buy it myself because my parents wont let me .

As a cat lover, I was instantly drawn to the Flower Shaped Cat Tree Happy & Polly. Standing tall at 50 inches, this tree is perfect for my large cats who love to climb, jump, and play. The multi-functional design allows them to rest, climb, and exercise according to their wishes. They love to lounge in the cozy flower-shaped cat beds and stretch their legs on the sturdy branches.
The high-quality material made of particle board covered with flannel is soft and comfortable for my cats, with the built-in iron pipe pillars providing a durable and stable structure. The spacious room and pumpkin-shaped design create a comfortable sleeping environment, and the built-in scratching pad ensures that my furniture stays scratch-free.
One downside I noticed is that it's pretty heavy, making it a bit difficult to move around. However, the installation process was straightforward, and it didn't take long before my cats were enjoying their new playground. Overall, this cat tower offers a fun, cozy, and durable space for my cats to unwind and play.

🔗Uniquely Designed Cat Tree Tower for Relaxing and Playtime

I recently had the pleasure of using the Skywin Modern Cat Tower, and I must say, it's a purr-fect playtime companion for my feline friends. The sleek, modern design not only enhanced the stylishness of my living space but also provided my cats with a comfortable and stimulating environment to play, scratch, and relax.
One of the standout features of this cat tower is the Sisal-branded cat scratch pad. Cats simply couldn't resist the natural textures and scratching capabilities of this material, and it seemed to keep them entertained for hours. The soft felt pads also provided a cozy and safe surface for them to take naps and curl up on.
While the Modern Cat Tower was easy to assemble and conveniently sits on the floor, I noticed that the sturdy design could be a bit of a challenge for some older cats to climb on. Additionally, the instructions for hand-washing the padding seemed a bit unusual, but I couldn't think of another way to keep the pads spotless.
All in all, the Skywin Modern Cat Tower serves as a stylish and functional addition to any cat lover's home. Its eye-catching design and diverse features make it a unique and enriching playtime experience for cats of all ages.

🔗Chic 4-Level Adjustable Cat Tree with Scratch Post for Modern Homes

https://preview.redd.it/abgd20knb52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b58f44f181e76cc6f7cb400a9f0640235a70640
Recently, I had the pleasure of trying the Cat Craft 00350 climbing and perch cat tree. This versatile piece of furniture was perfect for my home, easily adjusting to the ceiling for added stability. The expandable rod made it easy to assemble, and the soft, plush fabric provided a cozy space for my furry friends to rest. The velcro sisal mat was an added bonus, encouraging them to scratch and play.
However, one downside was the cleaning process - the fabric needed to be hand-washed only. Despite this, the overall experience with the Cat Craft 00350 was a positive one, with my cats enjoying the different levels and perches available. The water-resistant frame added durability, and the inclusion of a scratching pad and claw post made this a well-rounded cat climbing and resting solution.

🔗Bold and Stylish Cat Tower for Kittens

I recall using this 53-inch multi-level cat tree in my own home, and it definitely lived up to the hype! . The three floors provided my curious kitty plenty of space to climb and explore. I even noticed a distinct difference in her activity levels since having this playhouse.
The product is made of E1 grade particle board, which offers a stable and secure foundation for cats to rely on, and the sisal-covered scratching posts kept my kitten happy and content. The plush perch was soft and friendly, and the kitten showed great satisfaction with it. My only minor gripe was the need for more frequent cleaning, but overall, I would highly recommend this cat tree to any pet owner looking to provide their kitty an engaging and entertaining environment.

🔗4-Level Solid Wood Cat Tree Condo with Teasing Toy

I just got this cat tree for my furry little buddy and I must say, it's a game-changer. The 61-inch solid wood design is not only visually appealing but also sturdy, ensuring my cat's safety while he plays.
The multiple tiers, condo, ladder, and hanging toys keep him active and entertained, and as a bonus, the natural sisal ropes are perfect for those scratching sessions. I appreciate how easy it was to assemble, with the included hardware and instructions.
Overall, I'm beyond happy with this purchase, and my cat seems to love it just as much.

🔗Comfortable multi-level cat climbing tower with a window view

PAWZ Road's Modern 5-Level Indoor Cat Tower has been a staple in my cat's life for months now. Not only does it come in a sleek, modern-looking design, but it also comes with a pendant that adds an extra touch of cuteness. The tower is made of a sturdy, durable wood material that has held up well over time.
The scratching texture on the tower is a game-changer for my kitty - it's perfect for her scratching needs. It's not too steep nor too low, so my cat feels secure while climbing. The top groove provides a cozy spot for her to nap and feel embraced, which she absolutely loves.
Despite the fact that it comes with pieces to assemble, I found it to be a breeze to put together. Plus, it saves space in my house and gives my cat a playful area to climb, nap, and investigate. It's a great alternative to large freestanding cat trees and scratching posts, and it seamlessly fits into my home's decor with its beige and white color.
Cleaning the tower is simple - I use a lint roller or give it a good scrub with some soap. Overall, my cat adores her PAWZ Road Tower, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

🔗Premium 76-Inch Cat Tower with Sisal Scratching Posts and Multi-Level Hammocks for All Life Stages

https://preview.redd.it/ldo47jwob52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81f608b6978ddae57a0cb01b645788d25529e7e7
As a reviewer, I found the MSmask Cat Tree 76 Inches to be a delightful addition to my indoor cat's playtime routine. It stands tall at 76 inches, offering ample space for my kitty to climb up and down and enjoy the various levels. The multi-layer design is perfect for multi-cat households or for those with a single furry friend who enjoys exploring different levels.
I particularly loved the large space at the top, where I placed the perches and the long condo. The cozy spots were a hit with my cat, who happily lounged at the highest point in the morning, basking in the warmth of the first rays of sunshine.
The three types of hammocks catered to different cat sizes and preferences, ensuring that my little one found her perfect spot to curl up. One of my favorite features was the sisal scratching posts, which kept my cat's claws in check and provided a natural way for her to maintain healthy nails.
With its sturdy and stable design, this cat tower not only kept my cat safe but also made it easy to assemble, providing a hassle-free experience for its users. The MSmask Cat Tree 76 Inches is a charming and functional addition to any cat lover's home, delivering on both style and practicality.

🔗Cute, Sturdy Wooden Cat Tree with Natural Branch and Comfy Perches

https://preview.redd.it/kbfskv8pb52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fe0187e51fe4c7fc30b734d6b640b4253ea0d39
The COZIWOW cat tree was the ultimate hideaway for my feline friends. Made of natural branch and chipboard, it was a beautiful and durable addition to our home. The soft velboa on each cat perch provided a cozy spot for them to lounge on. However, the stability of the tree left something to be desired. Despite the assembly being straightforward, the product wasn't as solid as I would have hoped.
One of my cats enjoyed playing with the scratching balls at the base of the tree, and the different layers of perches allowed for flexibility in their climbing. The design was attractive, but the craftsmanship wasn't of the highest quality, as I ended up having to find a larger bolt to secure the broken piece.
Although the tree could be wobbly at times, my cats liked using it and it was a fun addition to our living room. However, I would recommend this product for smaller cats rather than large ones to ensure stability. Overall, the COZIWOW cat tree offered a unique and attractive spot for my cats to play and relax, but it wasn't perfect for every situation.

🔗Versatile and Safe Lulu Cat Tower

https://preview.redd.it/yihwpgvpb52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d2cfc81183edcb07f1bb8036e3fb18cc18ff2a70
As a reviewer who's been using the Naomi Home Lulu Cat Tower, let me tell you that this towering feline haven is a true five-star wonder. With two generously sized levels, it's a haven for large kitties to stretch, climb, and perch in comfort.
The house-cats of the world will appreciate the thoughtful design; not only does the rugged household-grade carpet create a cozy resting spot, but the oil-less sisal rope ensures their nails stay sharp and healthy. And, let's not forget the scratching post - a vital necessity for any feline friend.
There's no need to fret about assembly either. As one reviewer attested, it's a breeze to put together. However, there's a catch - while the tower can hold over 50 pounds, the top perch might not accommodate larger cats. But this minor drawback doesn't even come close to detracting from the overall satisfaction of the product. Its visual appeal, craftsmanship, and easy assembly all come together to make the Naomi Home Lulu Cat Tower a top choice for large-cat lovers everywhere.

🔗Cute Cats Love Multi-Level Play Towers

For the past few weeks, I've had the pleasure of introducing our indoor cat to the Monibloom Cat Tree. As a busy family, we've always struggled to keep our feline friend entertained, especially when it comes to playtime. This cat tree has been a game-changer!
I was initially drawn to its multi-level design. My cat seems to enjoy having a variety of platforms to explore, lounge, and even nap on. The cat condos are a huge hit, too. It provides a bit of privacy and a comfortable spot for our cat to retreat to, especially during the hustle and bustle of the day. She even enjoys scratching on the sisal rope posts - it's been more entertaining than I expected!
What truly impresses me is the sturdy construction. Despite daily playtime, the Monibloom Cat Tree remains stable and secure, offering our cat a dependable structure to play without any worries about tipping over. The soft, plush fabric also adds a touch of luxury, making it a comfortable place for our cat to rest and relax.
However, there is one area of improvement: the cat tree is a bit heavy for easy relocation. Other than that, we're thoroughly enjoying our new furry companion's playtime companion. The Monibloom Cat Tree is a must-have for any indoor cat owner looking to provide endless fun and entertainment.

🔗Comfortable Cat Tree with Scratching Post and Jump Platform

https://preview.redd.it/eam67ylqb52d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1797a4045f93f0fd0e3c82db8327fc50182132c4
Imagine walking into your living room and seeing a little kitty kingdom sitting pretty in the corner. This is no ordinary kingdom, but rather a cute little feline kingdom housed in a vibrant fish-nap colored cat tower. The first thing that caught my eye was its stylish design that complemented my home's décor, instead of sticking out like a sore thumb.
Once assembled, I was impressed by the sturdy structure that made it look stable, making my fuzzy friend feel safe and secure as they went about their playful business. The spacious platform provided a comfortable spot for my kitten to gaze far and wide, looking like a little king or queen surveying their territory from above.
The integrated sisal scratching post was a hit, providing a natural and safe way for my kitty to scratch away without harming my furniture. The faux fur used in the cat tower was exceptionally soft and comfortable, ensuring they had a cozy place to rest, sleep, and unwind.
If there was one downside, it would be the absence of detailed instructions included with the package. However, I managed to put it together with the help of some online guidance and tools included fortunately. Overall, this fish-nap colored cat tower is an excellent investment for any cat lover, providing a fun, safe, and comfortable space for their feline friends.

As a cat owner, I was drawn to the Cat Craft 00350 Unisex 4-Level Carpeted, Adjustable Floor to Ceiling Climbing & Perch Cat Tree for its sleek design and versatility. With an expandable rod that secures the tree to the ceiling for added stability, reaching a height of 89.76 inches, it was a perfect fit for my living space.
The tree's features were the highlights of my experience, from the Velcro sisal mat that increased interest and allowed for scratching, to the soft, plush fabric that provided a cozy resting spot for my furry friend. The built-in scratching post and perch were a bonus, adding variety to the tree's design.
One thing that stood out was the easy-to-clean fabric, making it a hassle-free addition to my home. The easy-to-follow instructions and durable, furniture-style design were pluses for modern cat parents like myself.
However, the product's overall weight made assembly a bit challenging, but once set up, it provided a stable and safe climbing experience for my cat. The limited 60-day warranty was also a bit disappointing, but overall, the Cat Craft 00350 Unisex Cat Tree exceeded my expectations in terms of functionality and style.

The cat tower comes with complete instructions and tools, making it a breeze to assemble this little abode. My cat seems to love it, spending hours lounging around and even using the scratching posts.
However, there were a few minor drawbacks. Firstly, the cat tree is quite small, which might not be ideal for larger cats. Secondly, the instructions, although provided, were not very clear or helpful. But overall, it's a cute and functional cat tower for smaller cats or kittens.

2024.05.23 11:36 THAT-REVENANT 99 things I want in Helldivers 2.

Akshualy there aren’t 99 but it’s what I originally set out for. I’ve tried to group things up. I will add to this over time or if anyone replies with awesome ideas I want to highlight. None of it is in any particular order. And yes, I know some people have asked for a few bits featured here, I've been a long time getting around to posting this. I was rewarded the opportunity to count votes with my democracy officer!

SOUND

  1. More voice packs!
  2. A Casper Van Dien voice pack.
  3. A best girl Dina Meyers voice pack.
  4. A Denise Richards voice pack.
  5. A Patrick Muldoon voice pack.
  6. A Michael Ironside voice pack.
  7. A Nathan Fillion voice pack because Buck was a cool drop trooper.
  8. More ambient synth led music for Automaton missions. Just like the robot assassin from the future films that should be banned. As if robots could be so capable and sneaky!
  9. More options for team mate praise.
  10. More ambient chat from the team mates.

MAPS

  1. Bug Rain weather condition, where divers would be encouraged to use flamethrowers to eradicate small tennis ball sized bugs that fall from the sky and eat whatever is near.
  2. Urban, or rather urban ruin maps.
  3. Long distance escort missions where you escort a vehicle or a non sentient drone rather than people.
  4. Human fort maps where the bases are ruined/abandoned with lots of dead Helldivers about. We could have an intel recovery objective on these. Also, there could be unique human weapon emplacements and an excessive amount of SEAF arty posts to use.
  5. Mud. We have snow and sand so it would nice to have mud too with some unique physics that are better for tracked vehicles rather than wheeled.
  6. Native fauna.
  7. Unfriendly native fauna. Space dinosaurs.
  8. Flowing rivers with the appropriate physics. Bodies and mission critical gear and weapons could get washed away. Called in stratagems could also flow downstream which could be fun and useful.

WEAPONS

  1. Guns that shoot green stuff, maybe some kind of maser, that do heat + shock damage and can eventually ignite targets.
  2. Microwave beam which upon contact damages, then after a little while ignites and then finally explodes a target. Excessive use damages the Helldiver and greys out some of their health bar until they drop again.
  3. A grenade launcher that shoots gas grenades. Could wipe out bug nests without an explosion but more bugs would escape onto the surface.
  4. A chem thrower that fires green fire and leaves green gas around, sorta like C&C.
  5. A minigun with a backpack call down – specialised ammo, no pickups.
  6. A belt fed rapid fire shotgun with a backpack call down – specialised ammo, no pickups.
  7. A belt fed rapid fire slug gun with a backpack call down – specialised ammo, no pickups.
  8. A Doom style BFG 1 shot weapon.
  9. Recoverable/Swappable side arms.
  10. Recoverable/Swappable grenades.
  11. Recoverable ammo from guns.
  12. Grenades and explosive ammo that chain react when caught in close range grenade blasts like Halo 1.
  13. Sticky Grenades!

VEHICLES

  1. One Shot Power Armour with a built-in mg, flame thrower and jump pack that you start the mission with. Once you die it’s gone for the duration. Only at difficulty 7 and above.
  2. An original style mech with two double flame throwers and gas grenade launchers.
  3. A taller more bipedal, more advanced mech. Limited to level 8 missions and above.
  4. Multiple configurations for the aforementioned mech.
  5. A flamethrower tank that works with a single pilot, like C&C or TibSun.
  6. A mobile artillery platform that needs 4 people to man it. 1 to drive and deploy. 1 to aim. 1 to load shells. 1 to man the turret.
  7. A pilotable helicopter
  8. A pilotable VTOL
  9. Dirt Hell-bikes for getting around fast. Drops in a set of four. One drop only. Looks like someone else had this idea too with that awesome artwork that is floating about.
  10. Pilotable forklifts.
  11. Various pilotable wreckage like cars and tractors and combine harvesters.

STRATAGEMS and Boosters

  1. Orbital radiation weapons that work as area denial over large areas. Imagine the black beams from Brigador but over a large area. See Also: Fallen Dragon by Peter F Hamilton, 2001.
  2. Eagle based mine laying runs.
  3. Explosive Landing Booster. Hellpods could do more damage as they land. 100% lethal to Helldivers caught in the blast. Area of effect kills small things. Medium and bigger would take much more damage and be knocked back.
  4. Laser Torch Booster. Hellpods would do high damage to targets upon landing. Hive Titans would be a one shot from body hits.

ENEMIES

  1. Enemies that can pick you up, throw you, squish you, and many other horrible things.
  2. Automaton Walkers that can pick you up and automate (read: Strogify) you/your corpse.
  3. Stroggified Helldivers that are made from Helldiver corpses that are exceptionally fast and accurate and actively hunt the Helldiver squad more aggressively than the regular patrols. They could pick up discarded Helldiver weapons too.

GENERAL

  1. Observable power creep as the conflict progresses, for all factions.
  2. Level 10 Missions for the power creep.
  3. Mobile evac where you have to drive a vehicle into a vehicle bay on the bottom of a new aircraft.
  4. Full replays like Halo 3’s theatre mode: This would make the game last forever IMO.
  5. A key for turning off the HUD.
  6. A different death screen for when nobody extracts. A clip of the pelican altering course/flying away, the ship guy saying something tragic but memorable to the Eagle pilot. Camera angle then switches to each helldiver’s corpse before loading back to ship. Sad music plays instead.
  7. A mystery 4th Faction. But not humans. I never ever want to fight other humans in this game.
  8. An Observer mode where a 5th person could come into a game to screenshot and video the fight.

2024.05.23 11:35 Ganondorf10987 My (25M) GF (23F) is leaving me because I can't say that "she's the girl I want to marry"

My GF of just over 2 years has made it entirely clear that she's not happy in our relationship, and has even left to go live with her mom, all because, as she said, she "feels like our relationship is at a stand-still and that our life has no future" (because previously, I had said that I don't want marriage for now, at least until our lives are stable and established, ie: until we have jobs we're happy with and some reasonable savings, and we're otherwise ready for it).
So the other day, she brought up that she wasn't happy in our relationship, explained how she felt, and crucially, said that she wanted me to be able to say that "she's the girl I want to marry".
Now, the problem here is, I don't care about marriage, so I can't earnestly say that, because I don't want to marry at all, at this stage in my life. Like, I'm sure that, in a few years' time, once our life was stable, I could change my mind and really *want* to marry her (and be just like almost everyone else), but in this moment, at this point in my life, I can't say that and mean it; I can only say that regardless of whether that would happen (as in, my mind changing and me wanting marriage), I would be willing to marry her, considering that it's so important to her (because, as she said, she'd been dreaming of a wedding and everything that comes with it like dress shopping and finding the perfect venue, etc., and ever since she met me, the face she was imagining in those scenarios was mine).
Also crucially, she said that she didn't care if it happened when we're 30 or 40 or whenever, and if she had that ring on her finger for however long, but she just wanted to know that there was a possibility of that in the future.
As I've mentioned, I told her that I can't say what she wanted me to (at least not just yet) and can't guarantee that I will be able to when the time comes (purely because of my thoughts on marriage and not because it's her, after all, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, which I've also expressed to her countless times), but that I will be willing to marry her and share that experience with her because of how important it is to her.
However, after some time contemplating it, she said that she's scared of the possibility that I won't even be willing when the time comes, and that I wouldn't marry her, even if our lives are stable and all of that. I tried to reassure her by saying that that's something I *can* guarantee (ie: that that won't happen), but she said that she's still scared of that, and that back-and-forth repeated like 3-4 times. In the end, I said that I can guarantee that, and that if she doesn't believe me, or it simply wouldn't be enough to her, that it's up to her to decide or figure out for herself, and she said that she'd need some time to accept/come to terms with that.
Lo and behold, 2-3 days later, I come home from work to her being fully drunk and not wanting to talk about anything (after I texted her asking if everything was okay and she said "no"), and the next day, she says that me being willing to marry her is not enough for her, and that she wouldn't be okay with me just being willing, that she'd need me to want it.
When I asked her why that's so important to her, she once again said that she's terrified that maybe in a few years, I won't even be willing anymore. When I asked her if she'd rather end our relationship now just on that maybe, despite the fact that I told her that there's no way that could happen, she said that minds change, not realizing that that fact would still hold true if I had said that I wanted to marry her. Although when I brought that up, and asked how that would be different, she didn't know how to respond.
Also, this shouldn't be because of any doubts of my commitment or dedication to this relationship, considering that just a month ago, she wanted to move back to her hometown until her paperwork was done, and when she did, I came with her. Mind you, that wasn't the first time I went to great lengths for this relationship; I mean hell, not even 2 weeks after meeting her, when she was being harrassed by an ex, I came to her hometown, catching the last train there, which was at around midnight, arriving there at close to 2AM (on a weeknight mind you, and I was still in college at the time), just to be with her and make sure that she's safe.
tl;dr: (I really disagree with this, but it's not letting me post without it) GF can't accept that I would be willing to marry her at some point in the future, she needs me to want it, or guarantee that I will
So, my questions are:
  1. Is this relationship even worth fighting fosalvaging/saving? (because we both still love each other, and wish it didn't have to end like this)
  2. How could I go about doing that?
  3. If the relationship does end, how do I deal with the fact that a piece of paper, and my want for it, is more important to her than the relationship we build, and everything we had?

2024.05.23 11:33 throwaway1md0ne I'm done but have to delay the outcome

I don't even know why I'm writing this, just have to vent I guess. Not to sound too dramatic, but my life is over and I'm a dead man walking. Or a dead enby walking, whatever. I have no goals, no prospects, no community, nothing to keep me going except my pets -- the only creatures on this dirtball that care about me at least on their animal level, and they are the reason I'm choosing to delay the inevitable. There's no one else to care for them when I'm gone and they deserve better than ending up on the streets in a country where people tend to be purposefully cruel to animals or dying of thirst and hunger in a closed flat with the corpse of their owner. So I delay as long as they're alive, but then that's it for me. I'm just worried I won't have enough strength and resources to go on long enough to give them all of the time they would naturally have. I'm kinda regretting having them because if they hadn't been in the picture, I would've ended it a couple days ago when it became readily apparent that I won't get a chance at having a life.
I tried though. I really did. But I'm just always too late. I'm 40, autistic, trans, AFAB, and ethnically Russian in Kazakhstan, which means my employment prospects are literally zero. Finding a job for a "woman" over 40 is hard enough in this sorry excuse of a country -- you have to either have relatives in the right places (I don't), have to already have an established career in a "socially acceptable" field where having been born with an "innie" doesn't automatically disqualify you (I don't, more on that later), or have to be suited for an unqualified low-paying people-facing job like a shop assistant (no one would hire my autistic butt for that kind of position). Also, getting a job has always been hard here because of the anti-Russian "sentiments", but the last couple years it has gone from a death by a thousand cuts kinda situation to people outright telling me to get out of the country even though I'm a several generations local in the city. One guess why. As to my recently ended career, I somehow managed to get into IT when I was 30, which took a lot of luck and a few connections I don't have anymore, but that field is sexist af. I initially wanted to get into system administration, but the guys who I thought were my pretty good buddies outright told me that they would never let a "woman" into their boys' club, and I really have never seen a single AFAB sysadmin in this country. So I went a different route, but getting a job was still always a struggle, and in every company I had to deal with aggressively sexist attitudes -- direct colleagues have never taken me seriously, and management and HR, especially the women, have always treated me as a "traitor" and "that slut out to get all of their boys" (I'm not even attracted to men, ffs), and overall it was never pretty, except my first programming job which still didn't end well because my then-boss made a few bad financial decision. I thought things were getting better when I switched from local office work to remotely working for Russian companies, but we all know what happened, and because of the sanctions I can't do that anymore. I tried to move further than that. Even while working for Russian companies, when I realised I was trans, and what all of that nagging misery that accompanied me my whole life was about, I thought I'd have a chance to move to a country where I'd be able to transition and finally have a life, but apparently I'm too late. The "IT deficiency" that was advertised doesn't exist anymore, and no one wants a 40-year-old pre-transition trans person from a 3rd world country without a university degree in Computer Science. So the brief period of hope has ended and I'm left with literally nothing except my pets. And I can't even go back into the closet because I can't un-know what I already know. So that's it. I give up. I'll see what I can do to feed my cats as long as I can, but when they're gone, I'm done. I know how. And I'll be sure to take as many bastards along for the ride as I can, because if nothing else, I'm a petty bastard. I just hope I have enough strength to go on as long as it takes for my pets to peacefully die of old age instead of something nastier.
