18 year old pakistani guy here. From my childhood I've been made to feel bad about the food I eat. Anything I ate everyone had an issue with. I don't know what I did wrong but I always got rude remarks and got fun made of me. I eat anything I like, I get made fun of.
At first it developed into this habit of eating fast I still have to this day. I don't eat to enjoy, anything I'll have to eat, I'll finish as soon as possible, like there's some instinct telling me that if I don't something really bad will happen.
Then it developed into being uncomfortable eating infront of someone. I always ate whatever I wanted to eat in secret. But this made it much worse because now another joke started about me being a sneaky eater and acting like I wasn't eating if I get caught. This made me develop my fear further where if something delicious was brought home, I couldn't touch it because if I did, no matter if I hate 1% of it and someone else ate 99% of it, I'm the one who "inhaled" it and should learn to control myself.
Then this developed to me eating alone. I eat everything alone. I never sit with the family or friends or anyone. If we go to a restaurant, I'll order something that I can eat as quick as possible and bow my head down and finish it in a minute. It's to the point that if I'm sitting in my room, I won't be comfortable enough to eat if my door or a window is open. I need to close everything, shut everything to feel safe to eat.
What made everything worse was me bring skinny my entire life. I don't why but I just couldn't gain any weight. Ofcourse that was another point to always joke about. But in the recent years I finally gained some weight and felt confident in my body, because now I kind of look like a muscular man. But then ofcourse I get the opposite comments of losing weight because I've gained to much. For reference, I'm 6'0, 81kgs and about 20% bodyfat.
What made me write this post is an incident that happened today. A few days ago, my parents brought a huge box of a sweet I really like. Ofcourse my fear didn't allow me to take a single bite. Today it was half, I don't know who ate all that. But I decided that maybe since it's already been eaten so much, eating 1 wouldn't hurt. Right as I picked it up, my mother saw me. And then a few minutes later I saw her joking about how I've "inhaled" half the box in a few days. I couldn't even eat it anymore.
All I want right now is to move out so for once in my life I can eat without being made fun of. I can actually enjoy the food I'm eating without feeling like my life is in danger. I'm not even allowed to leave my home.

I was wondering if anyone with experience of pre-allocation could give me some insight into to process, specifically under the carer criterion?
My partner has epilepsy, and as we live together I’m responsible for taking care of him during/after his seizures, as well as helping with organising medical care, appointments etc. I’m hoping to get pre-allocation to London - he has a full time job here, and as he is unable to drive he probably wouldn’t be able to move with me if I was allocated somewhere with poor public transport which would then leave him living alone which is dangerous with his condition.
I’m planning to get in touch with my med school when 4th year starts (I’ve just intercalated), but honestly have no idea whether I have any chance of this being accepted. My concern is his seizures are fairly unpredictable with how frequent they are, and can be from a few a year to multiple in a month. We don’t have an official care plan or anything, and the help he needs is quite sporadic depending on how controlled his seizures are. The question about care given over a regular week would really differ depending on whether he’s had a seizure or not, but because of this I feel like there’s a good chance I’ll be rejected?
If anyone has any experience/advice, it would be very much appreciated! I know it’s still quite a while until I actually have to apply, but just want to be as prepared as possible

I didn’t want to flood this sub with even more negativity seeing as we’ve all been voicing our criticism as the season has aired, but am I the only one who really disliked this episode?
The liars, save for Imogen and Tabby, barely interact. And when they do, it’s either Mouse speaking to them about Bloody Rose or them gossiping about their love interests and being overly polite to each other. There are no instances where Faran, Mouse, Noa, speak to each other outside of group meetings, and if they did, I’m not sure they’d have much to say to each other.
During the bathroom scene in Episode 2 where all the girls were comforting Imogen, I had this realization…. what makes them friends? Outside of their mothers history and the recent trauma they experienced with Archie, why are these girls so close? They have virtually nothing in common and don’t seem to know each other that well. Yet they are constantly bantering, sharing group hugs, and being affectionate.
It made me think back on the original series. The Liars in the original were barely ever affectionate. Sure they consoled each other when they cried, or when they were in danger but generally they were not as touchy with each other. But it still felt as if they were very close friends and had been for a long time. That’s because the girls interacted one on one, they had their own specific dynamics and would constantly butt heads and get into interpersonal conflicts. This element is completely lost on the new series and leads to me feeling apathetic on the characters fates. We’re two seasons in and we’ve just barely gotten to know these girls and their friendships. Why should we care what happens to them?
It gets worse when you add on the love interests who only take up screen time that can be used to develop the girls and better flesh out their friendship dynamic. We already have an entire cast of underdeveloped love interests from the first season, why was it necessary to introduce more? All of them lack the chemistry with the main girls to even make it worthwhile.
Bloody Rose is also completely uninteresting for me as a villain. I had a similar issue with Archie from season 1 where I felt as if the writers believed that if they put him in a scene and had him walk or stand around menacingly that that somehow made him frightening or intimidating, but it’s quite the opposite. I think what makes a good villain is action but it seems Bloody Rose isn’t capable of doing much of anything. She doesn’t pose a genuine threat since she’s slow as hell and she hasn’t actually killed anyone other than those two randoms in the first episode. What frustrates me even more is because there are no real stakes so the editing tries to overcompensate with sharp cuts and sound effects but it makes for a very grating viewing experience. Did anyone else notice how much they abused that “Drop” sound effect this episode?
All of this makes me believe that the writers have a fundamental misunderstanding of what kind of show they want to make. They don’t seem to be familiar with Pretty Little Liars, and they don’t seem to be familiar with horror either. They use the most superficial tropes from the two but they completely ignore all the things that makes them so great.

I enjoy doing some reading, thinking, and writing after watching a thoughtful film. A friend who enjoys arthouse cinema introduced me to Tarkovsky's work, and "Stalker" (1979) was the first of his films I ever watched. It proved to be enigmatic and thought-provoking, and I've now watched it three times. I'd love to get some interaction from others on my thoughts below about the film, or any key aspects I missed.
First, a brief introduction to Tarkovsky himself. Russian director and screenwriter Andrei Tarkovsky is highly regarded by fans of arthouse cinema, and is widely considered one of the most influential directors in the history of cinema. His greatness is evident from what famous director Ingmar Bergman said about him: "Tarkovsky for me is the greatest [director], the one who invented a new language, true to the nature of film, as it captures life as a reflection, life as a dream". He received critical praise for films like Andrei Rublev (1966), Solaris (1972), Mirror (1975), Stalker (1979), Nostalghia (1983), and The Sacrifice (1986). Unlike all his other films the latter two were filmed outside the Soviet Union.
"Stalker" was my introduction to Tarkovsky’s work. It’s a Russian language film that runs for three hours. It’s been described as combining elements of science fiction and fantasy with dramatic, philosophical, psychological and theological themes. Critical reviews of the film have been very positive, and it has been listed among the greatest films of all time, and has also won awards.
So what’s it about? It is loosely based on a novel from 1972 written by the brothers Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, entitled "Roadside Picnic," which describes what happens following an extraterrestrial visit. In the book, a Zone of a few square kilometers remains after the aliens leave. This area exhibits strange phenomena and contains artifacts with unexplained properties, including a magical wish-granting “Golden Sphere”. But entering this dangerous and forbidden area requires the assistance of a professional guide known as a “stalker”.
The movie takes this basic concept from the book, which accounts for the title. Stalker is the main character of the film, which is held together by a narrative that departs from the novel in a lot of significant ways, and becomes its own story. Stalker’s role is to guide people into and through the mysterious and hazardous area called the Zone, which has been sealed off from the public by the government. Getting there requires going with him on a risky journey, and navigating it will prove difficult because apparently the normal laws of physics don’t apply there, and there may even be remnants of extraterrestrial or supernatural activity. At the center of the Zone is a place called the Room, which holds the promise of granting a person's innermost desires. The two men who join Stalker on his mission as part of their quest to get to the Room are a Writer and a Professor (never named), each with their own motives for entering the Room.
The first part of the movie is quite accessible for the most part. First we meet Stalker at home with his wife and child, and his wife unsuccessfully begs him not to go into the Zone. Next we meet his two clients. There are even some exciting moments as they begin their expedition, because entering the dangerous terrain of the Zone requires breaking through the military blockade of government security. Stalker has given them strict instructions that once they are inside the Zone, they must do exactly what he says to survive the dangers of this forbidden area. The shortest path to their destination is not necessarily the best one, and to navigate the potential hazards and traps, he throws metal nuts tied to cloth strips.
As the expedition continues, gradually we discover the reasons why the Writer and the Professor want to visit the Room. It also turns out that completing their quest won’t prove easy. The Room is located in a rundown industrial building, and they must make it through what is called the “Meat Grinder”, which requires someone to die in order to enable another person to enter the Room. The corresponding novel is helpful in explaining how this works: to get to the place where wishes are granted, one of the individuals has to die in order to temporarily deactivate an invisible phenomenon known as the "Meat Grinder".
But that’s not the only challenge that arises here. The Professor actually wants to destroy the Room to prevent anyone using it for evil. At this point a spiritual, psychological, and physical conflict between the characters ensues. After some climactic scenes around the notion of entering the Room, all three characters make the journey home. The film closes with some scenes between Stalker and his wife, followed by a contemplative monologue from Stalker’s wife, and a glimpse of their daughter’s telekinetic powers.
Viewers will be immediately struck by the artistic aspects of Tarkovsky’s creative film-making. Tarkovsky has a unique style, with a special fondness for very long shots without cutting away. Stalker uses slow camera movement, and lengthy takes that average at least a minute each, with many shots even running for more than four minutes. This technique is something Tarkovsky believed to be important, and had to do with his view of bringing his viewers into the time of the moment. His fondness for slow pacing and dreamlike visual imagery is very much on display throughout the film. Colour was also important to Tarkovsky, and it is only when we enter the Zone that we merge out of the black and white sepia that the movie starts with. Extended dialogue and monologues are also typical of his style, at least in this film.
But what is all this art trying to communicate? At times one might wonder whether Stalker is reliable, and whether the dangers of the Zone are real, or whether the Room is just a superstitious fallacy. Sceptics might want to view the film rationally and scientifically, and explain away the Zone as the site of a nuclear accident like Chernobyl. Taken as a whole, especially in light of Tarkovsky’s own rejection of a purely materialistic view of life, I’m convinced the film wants us to accept that the threats in the Zone are real, along with the Room and the reward it promises to all who are prepared to complete the religious quest needed to reach it.
This interpretation is supported by the fact that we see a wind arise when The Professor tries taking a shortcut, and also the impact that the Zone has had on Stalker’s daughter and her apparently telekinetic powers. It’s also supported by what happened with Porcupine, a previous Stalker who committed suicide after obtaining his inner desires upon entering the Room. Additional evidence in favour of this interpretation is the main premise of “The Roadside Picnic”, the novel that the movie is based on. Reading a synopsis of the book’s plot can be helpful to discard wrong interpretations of the film that were clearly not intended. So even if there are parts of the film hard to explain, it seems clear that the character of Stalker needs to be accepted as a trustworthy character, and that what he says about the Zone is true, even if Stalker’s own journey of faith has flaws and imperfections.
But what makes Tarkovsky’s contribution to cinema all the more important for me personally are the religious themes that he works with. He has the same Russian Orthodox Church background as literary greats like Dostoevsky, so it should come as no surprise that he employs similar themes. Like Dostoevsky, Tarkovsky rejected the idea of a materialistic, disbelieving world. So it seems plausible to interpret the film with Stalker representing the “holy fool” that is a common motif in Russian literature. His role typifies the importance of following a spiritual guide rather than following our own path, and the importance of viewing life through the eyes of faith. Navigating the Zone is like a religious quest or trial that requires believing and following a guide. For me as a Christian, this suggests something about the essence of faith, where we are led by God's Word, and follow what He says.
The Writer and The Professor are never named, and are presented as two intellectuals, possibly representing arts and science respectively. The Professor is a sceptic and unbeliever, while the Writer is an agnostic, and both struggle to accept the apparent powers and dangers of the Zone. In the end, both end up following Stalker, who is a man of faith, but this is only after their own personal failures to accomplish what they came to do in the Zone. This also explains the closing scenes, where Stalker laments humanity’s loss of the faith needed for going through the Zone and for living the good life. In a world of increasing secularism, materialism, rationalism, and scientific thought, Tarkovsky wants us to hold on to the importance of faith and religious thinking.
Another important theme is about human desire. While the Room holds the promise of tremendous power, it is also very dangerous. An account of a previous Stalker named Porcupine is offered as a cautionary tale in this regard. He took his brother into the Zone, but sacrificed him at the Meat Grinder in order to enter the Room himself. Porcupine later won the lottery and became very rich, but subsequently hanged himself. His stated desire might have been to restore his brother back to life, but what if his greatest secret desire was actually different from what he thought, and was just a materialistic craving for money? Realizing this afterwards made Porcupine realize he wasn’t a very good man, and brought him to suicide, perhaps in part to expiate himself for his guilt.
Could Tarkovsky be saying something similar to the message of Ecclesiastes, that if you look for your deepest desires to come true (apart from God), in the end it leads only to disappointment? Wisdom is to come to the same realization that the Writer and the Professor eventually arrive at: because of the corruption and depravity in our hearts, entering a Room which grants our greatest secret desire would only result in something that will haunt us. We don’t have the spiritual goodness to enter such a place, and the conclusion of the film grieves over fallen humanity’s inability to live the good life.
In contrast, Stalker’s daughter (Monkey) seems to be presented as a Miracle Child who does have a noble heart, as evidenced by her mind being filled with works of poetic greatness. On the one hand she bears the marks of Stalker’s frequent visits to the Zone, because being a stalker comes with the risk of genetic mutations in your children, which is evident in Monkey’s visible handicaps and imperfections. Yet her demonstration of telekinesis suggests she has the power of miracles which the Room promises. This also explains why she is the only object in colour, because the power of the Zone is embodied in her. Perhaps redemption is possible after all, even for those who are wretched and otherwise without hope.
Modern viewers won’t be the first to find themselves wondering if too much is made of this film, and cynics may even suggest that part of the obsession with and admiration of this film is just a case of the Emperor’s New Clothes. I’m convinced it has a plausible story and deep themes, as I’ve explained above. But I’ll also concede that a great deal of the film eludes the ready grasp of the viewer, and remains perplexing. I often found myself wondering about the importance of the obscure images the film constantly throws at us.
For instance, what are we to make of the lengthy dream sequence, where we are get a series of images of debris and flotsam in water: fish, a religious icon, money, a rusted gun, a lock, barbed wire, a spring, a human hand? And what is the significance of the dog that roams freely in the Zone, and follows the trio back out? At times the imagery is deeply religious, such as a moment when the Writer has a crown of thorns on his head, but what does it all mean? Without an interpreter, I often found myself baffled, but also intrigued and deeply curious. It’s certainly a demanding film, and the fact that it is somewhat inaccessible and that its meaning is somewhat hidden is also somewhat frustrating.
At the same time we should be careful not to allegorize the film too quickly, and want to interpret all its details as symbols. Tarkovsky himself shied away from the concept of symbols and preferred to speak about metaphors. In interviews, he said that while a symbol contains within itself a definite meaning, a metaphor is an image and is indefinite in meaning, and cannot be fully deciphered. He wanted his films to be works of art, but not in the sense that everything can be explained, because he believed that there were aspects of his films that are abstractions that transmit truth which can only be comprehended in one’s own heart. If we’re going to take his own vision for his films seriously, we must be cautious not to analyze everything, but also allow the images to touch our soul.
On the other hand, some viewers insist that this movie should just be enjoyed as a story without trying to interpret anything at all. I wouldn’t go that far, because clearly it is intended as a metaphysical fable that has something to say about faith, and about the nature of human desire. Tarkovsky has also stated that he wants his films to create a certain spiritual state in his viewers, even if they encounter fragments they don’t understand. So clearly there are deeper themes behind the story that we have to draw out. That requires effort on the part of the viewer, and a modern audience brought up on Hollywood action films and needing a suspenseful plot will find a film like Stalker disappointing, and perhaps even stupid and anti-climactic. Tarkovsky would dismiss such critics as unbelieving materialists, and might even see his film-maker role functioning like a stalker to help bring them back to an awareness of the need for religious faith.
I’ve also watched Tarkovsky’s film “Mirror” (1979), which is considered by many to be his magnus opus. That is a much more enigmatic film with a non-linear structure and unconventional structure that jumps between three different timelines, and a stream-of-consciousness feel with dreamlike images. While critically acclaimed by some, others consider it completely incomprehensible. In contrast, “Stalker” is much more accessible, much like his sci-fi film “Solaris” (1972), which is also more narrative driven, while still raising deep questions.
Stalker is an excellent place to get introduced to Tarkovsky’s creative, artistic, and thoughtful genius. While parts of it will remain perplexing, it has enough narrative to keep you interested, and it’s not so opaque that it defies comprehension on first viewing. As has well be said: "Only in the hands of a genius like Tarkovsky can the simple narrative structure of three men on a journey be transformed to a complicated moral and spiritual examination of humanity, anchored to references of classical poetry, literature, music and art."

It's the episode where Cristina imagines two alternative realities. The second one is where she and Owen are finally apart and she's on the path of getting Harper Avery awards one after another.
Owen becomes unreliable, a drunk, a "danger to his patients" and I feel like that's a terrible possibility because our of all the faults he might have, he was a pretty strong doctor. I enjoyed trauma arcs and he knew his stuff when it came to his patients, just with the exception of getting too emotionally involved/trauma bonded with some of his patients.
It makes me feel like the parts that I really dislike about Owen are actually just normal shortcomings magnified due to weak writing.
Personally he would have been a mess, sure, but professionally I find it hard to believe that he'd mess it up that bad even in imagination. I'd have thought him to take up a role in the military again after breaking it off with Cristina.

(maybe bad english incoming) Note: Might be biased, because I play with high fear amount.
1: This one should be pretty obvious I guess, it is Heras Born Gain (expl. "Whenever you run out of Magick, Prime to restore all Magick up to the reduced limit"). This Boon is by far the best magick regeneration right now, it allows you to spend your magick as much as you like without even having to attack normally in between. If you get it to heroic or put some poms onto it, it only costs 2 magick to use all your magick again. Especially when you play with the "Start with 0 magick" fear-option, its insane.
2: For the second place I think im going with Apollos Lucid Gain (expl. "While standing in your Casts, gradually restore Magick"). The reason why I decided to put this into the second place over others like Zeus or Hestia is quite simple, since most of the time you are fighting foes inside your cast anyway, you have a faster automatic regeneration without the downside of losing health or magick %-wise. Combined with some other Cast-boons like Demeters freeze or Apollos Size-gaining cast it is really easy to restore a solid amount while still being in combat
3: The third place kind of varies with preference I would say, you could argue for any other boon left. However since it is my tierlist, I am going with Aphrodites Glamour Gain (expl. "In each Encounter, 1 foe is always Weak. You gradually restore Magick near Weak foes"). This Boon is really strong vs single targets (such as many bosses) obviously. Not only does it constantly weaken them, you also regenerate passivly without a downside, since most of the time you are sticking to the enemy melee. Also works well with other boons that synergies with weaken effect. Maybe with the Torches it is not the optimal choice.
Ima keep it more short now, since the top 3 is over lol.
4&5: For the fourth and fifth place ima put Hestias Hearth Gain (expl. "Rapidly restore Magick, but you have -20% Max Life.") and Zeus Ionic Gain (expl. "Gradually restore Magick, but your total amount is reduced by 70%."). This one depends on the weapon and playstyle, therefore I don’t have a strong opinion on those. With the Zeus boon you tend to run low on maximum magick, especially with the fear option, where every boon above rare stores some magick and with Hestias Boon you tend to run low on health. I think I prefer Hestia over Zeus though.
6&7: For the sixth and seventh place it is between the more "gimmick" boons. Hephaestus Fixed Gain (expl. "You take -10% damage, and restore some Magick whenever you take damage") is overall not too bad, it is a pretty fast regenration, but having to trade hp for it is just not it. On the one hand it synergizes badly with the fear-option where enemies deal more damage and where the first hit does 300% dmg, on the other hand it works well with the Selene Upgrade where your Ult gets the ability to apply all the "Take damage" boon effects (don’t know how to describe it better). Poseidons Fluid Gain (expl. "After you strike foes with your Weapon, a Spirit Bubble may appear.") is kind of annoying to me. It is luck based, forces you to run around into spots which are dangerous and therefore one of the worst choices due to its inconsistency.
8: Oh-oh this might trigger some of y’all, but this one is pretty clear for me, it is Demeters Tranquil Gain (expl. "After remaining inactive for 1 second, rapidly restore Magick until you act."). This boon is horrible in terms of clearing rooms fast - the regeneration feels slow since it begins after already doing nothing for 1 second. It forces you to go out of combat into a safe area which is just boring and for example in the Chronos fight pretty hard to execute without risking to take damage. When enemy speed is increased by 40% nearly impossible to regnerate more than 15 magick per afk session. Compared to the Apollo Magick-regeneration-boon it begins to regenerate upon placing your cast and you have small space to move around to dodge and attack. SO MUCH BETTER.

Adderall has always worked well for me; in fact, the first time I took it, I thought, wow, I feel like myself. I'm focused and productive when I take it. However, I have quit taking it several times throughout the years due to the comedowns. Depressed isn't the right term; it's more like becoming a complete shell of oneself after it wears off. I have an appointment with a psychiatrist in a few weeks. I checked with my insurance, and it appears that adderall is the only drug within my budget. Every alternative costs more than $300 or is not covered at all. I'm likely to return to taking Adderall. Thankfully, my insurance covers the XR version, which I have yet to try.
What are some tips for dealing with the comedown?

Truthfully, we have always had a relatively good relationship over the past 22 years. But I am learning about Manipulative relationships and am very wary due to wanting to protect my kids.
This Jan-Feb floored me and was quite terrifying for me. I created a boundary of staying away with my kids until she sought out professional help and received a third party vetting of treatment and stability.
Just got the following email from JNMIL:
Dear Slow-Albatross,
It's hard to know where to start this email since a lot of time and distance has come between us and I am so very sorry that our time and relationship has been stolen.
I understand your stance on pulling away with the kids because you felt I was a danger to them and to you. I assure you I was never a threat to them, you, or myself, though I understand why you had to take the action you have based on the reports you received.
I am truly sorry for the upset I caused by the comment I made about coming to your school. Understandably, you felt the need to protect yourself and the kids, but please know there was never any intent to follow through, and time has shown that no action was taken.
I hope you can have some compassion for the intense trauma I experienced from being in (insert two separate in-patient facilities) that resulted in short-term PTSD, insomnia for several weeks due to conditions I was subjected to and no regular sleep medication which resulted in delirium, plus excruciatingly painful isolation from everyone I knew. I made this unfortunate comment, after my release, to a friend who was a listening ear when I really needed one.
I humbly ask that you consider who I have always been as an imperfect but loving and caring mother-in-law, grandmother and mother. My heart has always been filled with nothing but love and positive intent toward all of you. I pray that you can forgive me and extend grace by considering the truly awful circumstances that prompted my words.
I am so very sorry Slow-Albatross and I ask that you please restore visitations with my grandchildren.

A few months ago I got really into PF2e, read up a lot on archives of nethys, and I played a lot of some online oneshots, but never a campaign, though I eventually got into a campaign!
During session 0, we met each other, chatted, made characters, etc.
We were all pretty new, and the GM knew that.
The GM also introduced themselves, and they seemed pretty cool both from my messages with them and during this session 0. They did say they "follow rules as written closely," which was maybe a yellow flag, but I know pf2e has good and clear rules that like being followed, so I didn't think much of it (I should have).
Session 1 came around and I was really excited, GM started us right at the quest area and immediately had us fight some undead and introduce our character as it came to our turn, I thought it was a cool way to do an intro. My turn came first, dual wielding ranger.
For context, PF2e has a 3 action system, most things require an action, but some require 2 or 3.
I asked if I had my swords already drawn since we were about to go through a probably dangerous cave. They said no, so I had to spend my whole turn drawing both my swords and putting hunt prey on one of the skeletons. The GM played the undead way more smart than they probably should've been, the skeletons firing arrows at us, and the zombies just staying in place. I thought it could be interesting, like they were more tactical due to a necromancer mastermind or something.
The Witch's turn came next, and she asked if undead were usually this smart, the GM said that's a Recall Knowledge which they'd roll for it behind the screen (literally, we were all doing video call), they told her she was unsure. She wanted to then Stride forward and cast a two action spell, don't remember which, but GM said "you have two actions left, because you used your first one on a Recall Knowledge." They didn't even warn or confirm with her, that it was an action, So she just Strode twice into cover.
The next instance was the skeletons focus firing the alchemist, who went down. Going down in PF2e is bad news, so the Witch thought to use her familiar to feed an elixir to the downed alchemist.
GM just said "You can't do that"
The Witch apologized and asked why, and the GM went on a long rules tangent that she'd need to take the backpack down, then need to interact twice for the potion, and that her familiar didn't even have manual dexterity, and that familiars couldn't even Activate to use the potion, etcetc
I remember specifically that I could see her eyes glaze over in the video call, and said "I'll just cast Magic Missile"
"I don't see Magic Missile on your spell list"
Witch was speechless, and I had no idea what GM was on and they just kept repeatedly emphasizing "magic missile" fully halting the game, and looking frustrated doing it
after a few repeats, I just asked something about force barrage, and they said "there you go!" exasperatedly. Bro I thought they were joking
For context, Paizo remastered PF2e after the OGL event back in 2023, so they also renamed a few things, to really cover their asses legally. It's been established that old pre-master content still works in games if needed, and anyone would know that Magic Missile and Force Barrage are just literally the same spell, just renamed. GM also didn't even pull out this 'joke' when we were doing character creation. Actually pedantic
Anyway, the rest of the fight was a slog, with me having to Stride thrice since the undead were more than 50 feet away and my shortswords being resisted by the skeletons, the alchemist having strained actions because of needing to heal himself, the barb kept being grabbed by zombies, but managed to finish the fight with his massive damage.
Session ended after the fight. We all kinda just said "thanks for the game" and left the video call quickly. Maybe I could've talked to the GM about the session, but I kinda just made up an excuse about scheduling and left the campaign. I dunno how the others are doing, but I have a bad feeling this just put them off from PF2e, especially Witch

A riddle wrapped in a mystery...

I have just finished the main questline for PL and was genuinely astonished by the quality for a DLC, it was better than the main quest for a lotta games. However, after helping Song, going sicko mode against NUS black ops soldiers (another Tuesday for V), then finally getting on that train she'd finally confirmed my suspicions that this panacea in a bottle has only enough for a single sip. Definitely the longest train ride I've ever been on. But V's a man of principle, so in spite of it all, still sees Song through to the end and Lucy's her out into space. The conversation with Johnny while observing the launch was beautiful, almost made it worth the price of admission. Almost. Wake up the next morning on a waterfront bench, Johnny waxing poetic, and clouds of smoke billowing from the spaceport. It was at this point that I wondered whether it was all really worth it in the end.
The lives of all the innocents caught in the crossfire, the now wider trail of death left in V's wake, and nothing to show for it except a bloody coin. Had to exit the game and take a day to really ruminate on the events. After researching the other endings, poring over clues that had been dropped throughout the story, and contemplating V's decisions, I arrived at the conclusion that a mistake had been made that may very well prove calamitous. V is an outsider pulled into a conflict he has nothing to do with, wants nothing to do with, and is simply trying to survive. Yet now the burden falls to him to make the decision at the crucial juncture, deciding the fates of the few and the fates of the many. He never quite trusted anyone owing to the fact that they all thrived in a profession where trust is either nonexistent or transactional. But desperation is a great motivator and trusting Songbird enough to fulfill her end of the bargain was enough to work with in this circumstance.
Knowing what I know now, Songbird is an extremely dangerous weapon. Perhaps even a delicate weapon. But a weapon nonetheless, and one that could cause untold catastrophe. Leaving her to any of the factions involved creates the possibility of another Net crash and an Armageddon scenario for many. After deliberating over the facts, I believe I am going to go back and put Songbird to rest. She's a WMD that cannot fall into any hands, period. Who the fuck knows what Mr. Blue Eyes is going to be doing with her on the moon? Could be planning a hostile takeover that would see more innocents go to an early grave. Hand her back over to the politicunt Myers? She becomes a weapon for the NUSA who are likely planning to wage another war. To borrow words from Johnny, the sitch is bent over, cheeks spread wide no matter how you slice it. The only pragmatic way to go is asset denial, considering that's what everyone else sees her as.
I see Songbird as a character that is significantly more tragic than V. No matter what she chooses, she still serves a master. A bird that only knows how to fly from one cage to another. V has choices, options, freedom to move in the environment, friends, lovers. and one choom who would be honoured to join him on a wild suicide run. The closest Song ever got to any of this was near the end of her life with V moving Heaven and Earth for her. The only true escape, the only true freedom for Song is to die at the hand of perhaps the only other person who'd ever truly understand what it was like to be in her position. Freedom in death or life in servitude? V is more fortunate than he realises; he has the ability to truly end things on his own terms. Right as many wrongs as possible with the time he has left, raise Hell, and cripple giants. In a bid to avoid any unnecessary deaths, I see this as the only pragmatic and logical course of action.

La Fitness Pompano Beach They have a lot of serious issues going on there .

The sales manager there for the sake of legalities will only be referred to by her first name which is witch
LA fitness has already fired her once before then they bought her back in September of2021
Reason for termination is unclear but was said to be discrimination against African Americans, Gays/ LGBTQ community and making anti semetic remarks but nobody knows for sure what the reason was for here termination, but it had ti be bad enough for them to hire her , Luis Maio one of her former sales his said “ I heard it was for embezzlement “ if that’s even true , since when did embezzlement become a re- hirable offense???????? ( again no one knows its that’s true except for the higher ups at LA Fitness
On one night in November of 2021 , a disabled employee who just happened to be a part of the LGBTQ community, came into work his regular closing shift 6 pm to 11 pm,
He was immediately summoned to a woman he did not even technically report to
The Witch/ dark haired sales manager who proceeded to tell him
“ oh you know Dante has been missing from the front desk for 10 minutes now, the disabled employee responded “ I’m sure he’s in the gym , maybe just using the restroom, “
Sales Manager the Witch response was:
“ oh come on now James , you know how THEY are ( referring to African American people in general) he’s missing in action by now he’s probably already home counting his welfare and food stamps balance” she continues “ you and I weren’t raised that way , we were bought up differently “ the disabled employee, proceeded to tell her “ I’m sure he’s in the gym and I’ll find him”, however you and I are nothing alike you are a racist and as soon as I find Dante, I’m reporting you ( sales manager ) to Human Resources “
The Witch didn’t care as she was just about to have this young kid fired for in her words “ time fraud”
In reality he was simply in the gym translating another employees COVID results tests from English to Creole!!!!
So the Witch comes running up to the front desk attempting to ask Dante “ where did you go”?
Mind you he was not even gone from the front desk but 6 minutes I checked the video footage!!!
Once I told her he was assisting another employee translating her COVID results test from English to Creole, she went back to her cubicle we warned Dante she had her finger on the phone and about to have you fired!!
And we proceeded to tell him that the witch said; you “ were probably missing in action already home counting his food stamps and welfare checks”!! Imagine how he must have felt extremely awful we proceeded to contact Human Resources and reported her to them snot her racist remarks.
They said “ oh we will look into it”
Did they ??? No, never !!!!
They allow her to behave like this and it’s been going on for years now !!
Mind you a good percentage of the members that pay her paychecks are African American or of Caribbean descent , in addition many of the members are of the LGBTQ community!!!
Obviously they are not aware of the racism there because if I we’re African American/ Cary, I’d cancel my membership and bring my business to any other gym besides LA Fitness but since they don’t know any of this nor do any members of the LGBTQ community which also many of the members there also identify as LGBTQ !!
So the front desk person who also happens to be of LGBTQ community, and identifies as such ,
Sales Manager The Witch decided she was going to send slanderous/ defamatory emails in retaliation for the front desk guy ,James , to Human Resources, all of which his front desk boss Frank went to Sales Manager The Witch on THREE separate times begging her and telling her to “ stop sending slanderous/ defamatory emails about my employee James who happens to be disabled, he additionally told her that Human Resources, copied Operations Manager Frank on her emails he to sales manager The Witch
Look , I reviewed the cameras each time and everything you’re saying in you’re emails are not in synch with my front desk video footage , stop this, it’s illegal”
Her response was:
“ no I’m not stopping until he’s gone “!!!!
Then she refused to speak to James in excess of 60 days!! James notified HR again that this was a very dangerous situation since on July 12, 2022 James was threatened to be “ SHOT “ by s kid Who was banned from the gym for brandishing a gun and threatening some minors to shoot them too!! Including kids in the kids club!!! (?yes if you have children , that gym is not safe , nor is the kids club!!’
James immediately recognized the guy ( Damien) and said can I see you’re I’d or scan in for me. Obviously he knew he was banned so James said you have to leave , that’s when he said “ I k ow what you drive you know how I roll and that I’m packing!!!
Earlier in that same Day ,Area Manager Robert attempted to “ Terminate “ James because he felt Joni and him could not get along!!
James said ok , I have no disciplinary action, and you want to fire me for HER behavior, go ahead. So we are going from a disabled very reliable employee being completely employed to terminated, james apparently told Robert fire me now or I’m going back to the front desk as it looks busy up there . Area Manager Robert said ok so you think you can work with her, his response was yes, but you need to at least attempt to correct her issues or at least make this a non hostile work environment..
He did nothing, James went back to work and that was the end of that , for now .
Later that same week a janitor went to Sakes Manager The Witch who also has a heart condition he asked her “ I need to go home for 10 minutes to get my nitroglycerin pills for my heart, I live close I’ll be right back less than 10 minutes “!!!
Sales Manager the witch told the janitor
“ you’re heart problem is not my problem, no you stay here and mop the floors!!”
Imagine if he had a heart attack after She denied him to go retrieve his medication he so desperately needed!!????
Then on another occasion another Janitor came to James fir some advice, Donna , apparently told James or asked James what should I do , they are asking all of us to lie in our depositions a pot a guy who seriously injured his leg in the gym due to LA Fitness being negligent for not fixing the leak in the basketball court !!!
Donna asked James “ what should I do because they want me to lie for them ( La ft)
James told her just tell the real truth because lying in a deposition could come with some legal problems for you and the others “ like contempt of court !!
On August 11,2022, James had a slip and fall seriously damaging his right shoulder as the members were getting tired of corporate turning off all the lights in the gym including the locker rooms 15 minutes before they even closed the gym!!
Members were very upset , sometimes they had started leaving the showers running, and had the shower curtains closed , leading anyone that closed the gym that there were people still taking showers in there in the dark , but out of retaliation, they just thought they could cause a flood.
I do know, on that night as James was closing the gym he himself had a serious fall on the wet locker room floor , was laying in a pool of water in the dark for over 30 minutes luckily he had his phone , called 911 they eventually got there,
There are no slip proof mats anywhere in that gym!!
When the paramedics got there they had to stabilize james with the neck brace and try to move him so they could treat him somewhere in the gym where there was lights, james said I believe the lobby stays lit until like midnight, but no that was not true either because in the lobby , as they were checking his vitals , the entire lobby goes pitch black, that’s when they realized the lights were being turned off remotely!!
So the paramedics said let’s get him into the ambulance where we can at least treat him . Do paramedics got him in the ambulance, transferred him to Imperial Point Hospital where they did a lot of scans and XRay on his head neck , shoulder and spine.
James was sent home the next day from the emergency hospital with only 3 days of bedrest, and workers comp immediately started physical therapy 4 times a week and had him seeing an orthopedic surgeon, who decided it was ok for James to go back to work on light duty . Provided LA Fitness follow his suggestion of light duty only and get a proper chair . So james was going to all of these physical therapy sessions, and de visits and still going into work! On November , 15, james went into work , and there was the witches boss , Useless was behind the front desk they were instructed by someone to find a way to terminate James because “ we just want him gone” so they enlisted the help of this young African American Girl Briana , and told her “ we need you to say you saw James do something wrong because we have no legal grounds to fire him we just want him gone, so being a young girl that was told she had to do this or lose her job , she had no choice but to go along with them . Mind you this was November 15th 2022 Yet they had already drawn up these falsified documents on November 11, 2022 They never even told the poor girl that what she was doing was illegal, they just used Jett as a scapegoat, then Fired Her the vey next day and Fired James via the telephone while he was still undergoing physical therapy and going to the orthopedic surgeon for his injuries!!!
James contacted the EEOC , which is overseen by the Department Of Justice, they did their own investigation and obviously after months of investigation they found grounds enough to issue James a “ Right to sue” .as Karma always intervenes, he was assigned the Witches favorite color Attorney, a senior Trial attorney who just happened to be a Harvard Educated Black woman!!!
James is now currently being represented by a major law firm for the defamation slander , wrongful Ty. And La Fitness failure to act responsibly when James was emailing HR begging them to at least attempt to fix the situation with Sales Manager aka the witch, as she was refusing to speak to him at all , even leaving out the back door just so she didn’t have to say anything like a simple “ good night” !!’ James was the only one who had access to the keys to the safest room in the building , in the event off an active shooting , yet the witch was not speaking to him, so that made the situation even more dangerous as there are also children in the kids club..
So then since James Workers comp case had nothing to do with all of the slander , defamation and wrongful termination, LA Fitness again attempted to mess up this disabled person’s life even more by offering him some extremely low amount of money and one of the stipulations was “ if James accepts this settlement ( and not for what he went through injury wise it was very low ) he would agree to withdraw his Labor Claim and not sue them for them making racist remaryagainsr blacks ( mind you James is white) and he said
“ no way I’m not accepting any amount and just forget about everything they did to me and the way they treat their employees, their racist remarks against Jews , Blacks, and Gays. ! He refused to accept hush money , told the workers comp lawyer “ well I guess you worked on this case for a year , for nothing , if you can’t have the verbiage removed , then you wasted you’re time hence you won’t get paid”
The very next day the Workers comp Attorney sent an email to his Labor Attorney which james by law had to be copied on , saying “ Dear Attorney ( fill in the blank) please tell me word for word which verbiage you would like carved out of his settlement offer “
The other Attorney responded “ everything pertaining to James’s Labor claim with the EEOC and DOJ)
The very next day .,, the settlement letter was amended and the verbiage that Jane’s and his attorney wanted removed was, funny how it was done so quickly, mind you they told James “ they will not carve out any verbiage for you “ hmmmm well they did.
So. If you’re giving LA Fitness you’re business , and you’re ok with giving them your money if you’re a person of color, gay, Jewish or anyone else they hate , then basically you’re allowing this to continue, because Joni is still there doing the same things
Lastly , like one week before they fired James he was like a hero to them for two reasons, 1 because he stayed at that gym with BSO when a woman was abducted in the Pompano La Fitness parking lot, she was thrown into her trunk and driven to somewhere on Palm Aire like a storage unit. James stayed with BSO until 2:30 am in the gym assisting 12 BSO officers!!Then that same week , on James shift, they did a corporate visit and got extremely high scores for greetings, overall an excellent visit , that his boss brought to his attention, then the very next week they fired him for “ Poor Job performance “ !!!!!!!! Kinda unbelievable, apparently they also didn’t realize that falsification of termination or any employment records was illegal and whoever’s names are on those papers , is facing criminal charges.
James happened to run into the girl they used as their scapegoat and had her lie fir them so they could at least have something on him to terminate him, what they didn’t think about the highly unlikely chances The girl they had lie for them and James would ever cross paths , well they did in a store in Pompano City Place while shopping !
Bottom line , James wants this to go to court in front of a judge trial , jury and MEDIA, he’d rather NOT settle , he wants Everyone to know what happened to him Plus how they treat their employees.
After plenty of discussions with numerous legal entities and Attorneys, they all agree that IF LA Firness consulted with their in house attorneys, , they would have NEVER advised them to convict a story and have another employee or employees to lie and falsify documents . La Fitness has options like for example take the time have a sit down meeting and figure out why the witch hated James, then simply say , ok if you hate him and now he definitely hates you , , Witch you live in Boca, James you live in Oaklsnd Park, would either of you consider the option of transferring??
But they Never employed any type of conflict resolution, which is commonplace in most ethical workplaces , but remember, this is LA Fitness, they have no logic or do not know how to resolve easily resolvable situations.
As consumers you HAVE a right to know what is going on behind the scenes at any business you give you’re hard earned money to, imagine if it was you’re child the Witch accused the young kid wiring the front desk of being on food stamps and welfare, even worse imaging if they had asked you’re son or daughter to lie for them and not even tell you’re child or loved one what the legal consequences were for making falsified statements or signing falsified employment documents which were turned over to the Department of Labor!! That’s an entire different legal situation they put themselves into . They ( La fitness ) thought “ oh what are the chances of them running into each other?” Well they did

So, what if Soldier Boy got hoodwinked and thrust into the Universe of the Vampire Diaries without explanation? It is a very magical world after all, lets say Soldier Boy was summoned into the world:
To start, how effective would Soldier Boy be as a "vampire hunter" in this universe? I'd like to immediately state however, Soldier Boy completely wipes the floor with all base level vampires ranging in ages 0-500 no questions even asked, it's no competition. It's the older vampires where it gets more interesting.
In the Vampire Diaries universe, Vampires are of the "magical" variety of Vampire, this means their physical strength grows in proportion to their age, older the vampire? the stronger the powerhouse they are, however they come with some downsides.
Vampires here are soft, meaning they do not have superhuman durability in the same way vampires from Twilight do. They have soft skin, same as humans, Vampire Diary Vamps have immensely strong supernatural strength that defies the laws of the physical world. This does not translate into actual durability like it does with Supes in The Boys or even Vampires from Twilight. You could completely puncture a vampires skin with something as ordinary as pocket knife if you they allowed you to.
Now it's worth mentioning, vampires here do have strengthened constitution, greatly so with age. They can push their bodies past their limits far past what a human could, for example; Wooden bullets, have a weakening effect on typical vampires, draining their strength and temporarily weakening the vampire. This doesn't occur in any meaningful capacity in elder vampires.
Healing Factor & Durability What Vampires in this universe do have going for them to keep them sturdy and robust, is their absolutely cracked Healing Factors, just about on par with the likes of Wolverine and Deadpool. Vampires can regenerate from any physical injury ranging from a few seconds, to minutes. Vampire healing factor does work faster and more aggressively when on a healthy and regular diet of human blood. Extreme organ injury however is where it will take much longer, up to days. At one point, one of the main protagonists eyes were both gouged out, his eyes regenerated in full in a couple days time with much discomfort.
If a vampires body were to be punctured and a major organ ripped out or crushed, the vampire would be out of commission for a couple days. Also, vamps can easily re-attach dismembered limbs.
Now, if all vampires here had going for them was scaling strength with age and the healing factor, they wouldn't be much of a threat for most supes, much less Solder Boy. However, Vampires here do have two abilities that allow them to outclass most supes from the Boys. There's also another tier of Vampire I have not yet mentioned.
Super speed and mind control (or mind compulsion) Vamps have super speed, can travel anywhere in a in the world in a flash as long as it is reasonably reachable on foot, vampires will appear as not much more than a blur to the human eye when moving at super speed. It's clear from observing in though, that Vampires cannot take full advantage of their super speed, as in Vampires cannot use their super speed at all times during combat, hence they do not ever fight each other at maximum super speed without stopping. This is likely stemmed from vampire diaries being magical in nature, and not truly physical. As amazing as these powers are, they have their limitations, as logically speaking, if something could move like a blur across a country, obviously they should be capable of fighting at full super speed 100% of the time nonstop, but they cannot.
Essentially, vampire super speed cannot walk and chew bubblegum at the same time, which is a massive drawback of the ability.
Mind control
All vampires, both fresh and original have the ability to compel a human being to do whatever they want and wipe memories, this ability alone would completely humiliate the majority of supes in The Boys universe, however when it comes to Soldier Boy, I do not believe this ability would work. The reason why? Mindstorm.
In The Boys there is one supe known as Mindstorm, his ability revolves around making eye contact with a target, and "scrambling their brains", this is done by knocking the victim unconscious and putting them into a never ending coma of nightmares. There are other aspects of his power but i will not be mentioning them, Mindstorms ability arguably outclasses that of even vampires. While vampire compulsion would be more than enough to enthrall supes on a widescale, Soldier Boy demonstrated extreme resistance to Mindstorms ability, at most Mindstorm was able to temporarily stun Soldier Boy, it was only with physical blows by other super strength supes and an extremely toxic compound to knock out soldier boy that would've killed any regular human instantly, that Soldier Boy was able to be knocked out, and even then, Soldier Boy was not put into a coma from Mindstorm, he was just put to sleep from the potent knockout agent used.
I do not believe Soldier Boy would be put down or even stunned from Vampire compulsion, his mental fortitude and strength is too high. As vampire compulsion cannot "stun" in the first place unlike Mindstorms ability.
So how does Soldier Boy actually measure up in a fight with Vampires? Including Elder Vamps upwards of 1,000 yrs old?
Regarding regular vampires, Soldier Boy clearly outright overpowers regular vampires, in fact I think most vampires would be terrified of Soldier Boy when noticing they cannot pierce his skin or overpower him. The most regular vampires could do is attack soldier boy at speed with varying levels of success, but would be completely incapable of actually harming him.
Most regular vampires of age who are in touch with vampire society would possibly resort to asking for forgiveness out of terror that they've angered an elder vampire, not understanding what Soldier Boy is.
When it comes to Original vampires, Vampires ranging from ages 900-1000 Every vampire ability is upgraded and surpasses usual vampires, more strength, faster speed, faster healing factors, higher levels of pain tolerance. -- But again, not actual physical durability from damage.
This is where Soldier Boy could potentially be up for a fight, however there are issues with even this tier of vampire. Soldier Boys strength is noted to be just under Homelander, of which Queen Maeve, as powerful as she was being the #2 supe in phsyical strength, is still weaker than Soldier Boy. Herself being completely unable to threaten Homelander in a fight.
Soldier Boy was capable of standing up to Homelander in a limited capacity, but was overpowered once Homelander got serious with grappling. Now back to Original Vampires, while their strength is much beyond regular vampires, I still do not see enough evidence it would be enough to overpower Soldier Boy. While Soldier Boy could be easily knocked around in a fight, thrown, tossed. SB would still be far too dangerous for an OG Vampire to dare grapple with, once Soldier Boy gets a grip on the body, its over. There is no fight beyond that point. Once Soldier Boy gets ahold of a vampire even at that age, there is little they can do to stop themselves from being mangled, ripped apart and ultimately completely crushed beyond repair.
Soldier Boy is far too invulnerable and strong to be taken out by vampires. At the end of the day he can be knocked around because of vampire super speed, but it would never be enough. Their bodies are too soft to stand a chance in a fight regardless of age.

I developed depression in 2016 due to stress of having to put more effort in studying for subjects like algebra, physics, chemistry, etc and always failed. I was sent to a psychiatrist who put me on zoloft 100 mg. It helped a bit, until, I changed psychiatrist due to him retiring.
It wasn’t until 2018 when I developed a tca because I made the wrong choice of weighing myself after eating pizza, and the lack of knowledge regarding weight fluctuations, muscle and fats and liquids, etc.. I started to have a distorted view with food and started to limit my intake and purge because I feared of gaining weight. I started to recover after my mom found out, it was not fully treated, as I still had some distortions/traits (still have) with food and weight. But, I stopped purging and started to stop obsessing over the scale’s number, and added more food to my diet.
2019-2020 was stable for me, my depression and tca were controlled and I was better. Enjoying life, sure, I still had some restrictions which is more about control. But, my life was sustainable, enjoyable, open.
Now, my family house was not stable though. My father is someone very dry and would argue a lot with my mom. I had to step up to protect my mom even though I knew that my father would never hit my mother. But, his words were hurtful. They divorced in 2021, and although for you guys might not seem as a shock, for me, it was. Having your father walk out of the house suddenly and never coming back was a shock.
It was then that I developed panic attacks and anxiety. I never knew how horrible panic attacks were until I experienced them. Everything was unsure, the house, everything (although my father always provided with the economy he is very controlling and you have to walk carefully or else he’ll treat you awfully) i have been somewhat sentimental regarding my house and family in some ways. Nostalgic ,even, to my childhood when things were happy. It was because I knew that things would change, forever.
My anxiety, depression, panic attacks were somewhat controlled by a psychiatrist who changed my meds, but then I decided to leave him because he was acting oddly (I found out later that he has mental issues and that his license should be revoked) i was stable with going to a psychologist who helped me a lot. In 2022-3 i started to work on a brand , and finally started in 2023. My depression, anxiety, and fears were basically gone. I still take my meds (under the guidance of another psych, but it was mostly about routine check. The one who helped me work on the issues was the psychologist) it was amazing and for the first time I felt happy.
Until rotavirus hit me and ended up hospitalized, lost weight which was a triggering factor, had to change psychologist because of my father, and that’s when my life went downhill.
I was too anxious and developed intrusive thoughts that I was desperate I thought that by returning to the psych from 2021 was a good idea. He told me that he would treat me with TMS for anxiety, I was vulnerable, desperate, so I accepted. The thing is he did it in 5 days, multiple sessions, and for the last two days he put me theta burst (also on day 4 he put me ketamine + tms and after I felt weird and overstimulated) I asked him why and he didn’t respond, changed subjects and said that I needed to go to Costa Rica.
Then Thursday came and it was awful, the psychiatrist told me that I was a danger for myself, that I had no words or say in the matter whether i should or shouldnt go to Costa Rica. My mother had to pick me up, so I could leave. (i was not suicidal, I asked him why I was feeling weird) also throughout the session he said that my business was not stable and that i should abandon my parents and forget about them, and that he doesn’t have the time to carry me. I was never heard, my questions were not answered.
I finally decided to find a better psychiatrist and told me everything about TMS, and finally fgave me a diagnosis which is making sense OCD.
She stabilize me and I have to see her on Friday.
The problem is that my sister psychologist spoke with me and told me that I was BPD. Because of OCD, depression, and anxiety. And I was like what? As far as I’m concerned I needed to complete a list of criteria to be BPD. I’m no medical professional, but I did my research.
I don’t have explosive emotions I dont have angry outburst e I dont have intense feelings or mood swings I don’t have impulsivity like reckless driving etc.. I dont have unstable self image My fear of abandonment is only 10% I have self harmed but it was due to the intense anxiety I dont disassociate or have paranoid ideation
Yet she says that I’m BPD. She told me that BPD was not a disorder , but as far as I’m concerned it is.

Sometimes I wish I had two extra sets of hands and fingers. I spend a couple hours writing ideas one through three down, and in the meantime ideas six and seven are already fading. I just can't write it all down fast enough.

The sound was deafening. Each thump of the godhammers fully drove the breath out of Darian’s lungs. Scintillating tears into the aster glittered maliciously across the fields, the parallax of the stars within the only hint of their fathomless depths. The earth itself bled with the wounds of combat, great rivers of molten red oozing across what was once a verdant plain stretching across the horizon.
Darian fell to his knees beneath another salvo of the godhammers, gasping for the air forced from his chest once again. Across the field of mayhem, another gilded God fell. The curious absence of sound that came with another astral rip left his ears ringing, and when he blinked, the soon to be dead form of golden flesh had been lost to another of those malevolent gashes. If he squinted, he could even see where the air itself was sucked into the void, rustling the ichor-soaked grasses just beneath the hole in the world. And still, the Gods came—towering oh so high—to rain their fury upon the ranks to his left and right. Lightning and fire, winds and rain—all of it paled in comparison to the gilded bolts of Godly power. All of it save the godhammers.
Even as scores of his own fell, Darian had focus only for one thing—the next target. The gargantuan figure of blinding gold, moving ponderously slow for its size, had taken another mile-long step forward. He could feel the earth buckle under the God's footfall. His gaze had narrowed, tunneling as the elemental energy within and around him fled—channeled so carefully, so swiftly, into the godhammer beside him. As the mass of metal and crystal began to hum once more, Darian thought back. Just a year ago, humanity had made that fateful discovery. The Gods themselves were frauds. Not in their godliness, nor in their Reign, but in their place within the world. They had usurped what was not theirs.
As the godhammers thumped their gut-wrenching salvos once more—and another God fell into the abyss—Darian’s vision wavered. He was running out of energy. It was frustrating. The very energy of the Gods was their undoing. Their golden machinations were the cause of his people's unraveling. In a world where the elements had reigned supreme, where the minds of the earth, and sea, and sky roamed free, the Gods—the Goh’Dharin—were interlopers.
They came from beyond the stars themselves. They fell into the Astral sea, and sought to conquer. When the Elemental Lord of that plane cast them out, they began again. Through Fire, through Water, through Air, and through Earth. It was only when they fell into the Confluence between it all—so it was learned—that the great elemental titans, off-spring of the Lords, were found to be corruptible. That was an interesting thing to Darian. The idea that he, in another age, would have been nothing more than a construct of earth and fire were it not for the influence of the Gods. Theirs was an energy unlike anything within the five planes. It was an insidious thing, this “Life” of theirs.
The war could maybe have been avoided were it not for those clairvoyants said to have originated from the Astral and the Sea. They were the ones to discover the why of it all. The Gods infected others, harvested the results, and used it all to make more of themselves. The elementals of the planes had been made into a macabre combination of breeding stock and harvest.
The screech of gilt lightning overhead brought Darian back to the now. It was dangerous, that golden tinge. It spoke of Godly energy, and it had become clear that the Gods could just as easily take as give. The rather unfortunate nature of that infectious “Life” meant that, once taken away, those previously afflicted simply ceased to be. There was no returning to a prior elemental state. In that way, it was important to avoid the stuff. Or, as Darian intended, to deal with it outright.
With a throaty yell, the man slammed his fist into the churned mud beneath his feet. A mighty effort and a yank of his arm brought not just his hand free, but a towering spire of bedrock too. And just in time. The golden lightning striking for his heart met an unyielding stone instead. Molten rock splattered wildly, but Darian paid little heed. Another of the Gods had taken a step forward, and he needed to ready his godhammer once more. It was a wonderful example of diplomacy, that thing. A messy contrivance capitalizing on all of the specialties of each of the races, from the Sylvan folk of water and aster, to his own Dwarven people of fire and earth.
The concept, at its core, was simple. Open a hole into one of the Planes, and strand the Gods for the elemental Lords to deal with. Of course, with how haphazardly it had all been thrown together, the effect was hardly consistent. It seemed more common for the astral plane to consume a God than any of the others. And just as well—Darian shuddered to think of the havoc that the ichor would inevitably wreak within the earth. Better that most of it went to the stars.
And if a thing could be more noxious than the “Life” these Gods forced upon the elements, it was their “Death.” A dark, metallic brown liquid, it oozed and ate through anything it touched, sinking with unfathomable density to the lowest points it could reach. Better that the stuff be lost in the aster than fester within the earth or water. But even as Darian had that thought, he couldn’t help but feel concern for the aster itself. The realm of stars. The lights beyond the clouds. What might that murky fluid do to the stars themselves? Darian shuddered quietly.
His attention was forced back to the chaos at hand when a deluge of water knocked him off his feet. He had no time for confusion or affront, because a bolt of blinding gold shattered the godhammer he had just been standing beside. The resulting implosion would have taken him with it were it not for the foresight of the Sylvan sending him down this newly made river.
He and they exchanged a wave before he was carried out of sight. He wasn’t worried. Tricky though they may be, with their rules and their etiquette, the Sylvan folk were masters of strategy. It was likely he was being sent where he was needed most. It wasn’t any surprise to him when he found himself coming up on another godhammer—quite deep into the battlefield at this point—on its last legs.
Around it were Sylphs. Some seemed panicked, others appeared to be struggling with the mess. And no wonder. It was humming a dangerous tune, that thing. It was obviously damaged, and those children of the water and the air had not even the foggiest on how to fix it. If Darian didn’t step in they’d face the same fate he narrowly avoided. With that in mind, the man grunted, hauling his sopping body out of the water and striding on stocky legs to the machine. This one seemed primarily the work of his sort and the Ifrit. Unsurprising that these Sylphs were at a loss. Well, that just meant he had an easier time of taking the thing in hand.
Shouldering aside one of the more flighty fellows, he placed his hands right on the glowing red core of this particular armament. The sizzling of water turned steam was an afterthought for him. What was more important was stablizing the energies running rampant. If he could get this thing operational again, he could start firing on the asses of the Gods themselves. He grinned fiercely at the idea.

The sales manager there for the sake of legalities will only be referred to by her first name which is witch
LA fitness has already fired her once before then they bought her back in September of2021
Reason for termination is unclear but was said to be discrimination against African Americans, Gays/ LGBTQ community and making anti semetic remarks but nobody knows for sure what the reason was for here termination, but it had ti be bad enough for them to hire her , Luis Maio one of her former sales his said “ I heard it was for embezzlement “ if that’s even true , since when did embezzlement become a re- hirable offense???????? ( again no one knows its that’s true except for the higher ups at LA Fitness
On one night in November of 2021 , a disabled employee who just happened to be a part of the LGBTQ community, came into work his regular closing shift 6 pm to 11 pm,
He was immediately summoned to a woman he did not even technically report to
The Witch/ dark haired sales manager who proceeded to tell him
“ oh you know Dante has been missing from the front desk for 10 minutes now, the disabled employee responded “ I’m sure he’s in the gym , maybe just using the restroom, “
Sales Manager the Witch response was:
“ oh come on now James , you know how THEY are ( referring to African American people in general) he’s missing in action by now he’s probably already home counting his welfare and food stamps balance” she continues “ you and I weren’t raised that way , we were bought up differently “ the disabled employee, proceeded to tell her “ I’m sure he’s in the gym and I’ll find him”, however you and I are nothing alike you are a racist and as soon as I find Dante, I’m reporting you ( sales manager ) to Human Resources “
The Witch didn’t care as she was just about to have this young kid fired for in her words “ time fraud”
In reality he was simply in the gym translating another employees COVID results tests from English to Creole!!!!
So the Witch comes running up to the front desk attempting to ask Dante “ where did you go”?
Mind you he was not even gone from the front desk but 6 minutes I checked the video footage!!!
Once I told her he was assisting another employee translating her COVID results test from English to Creole, she went back to her cubicle we warned Dante she had her finger on the phone and about to have you fired!!
And we proceeded to tell him that the witch said; you “ were probably missing in action already home counting his food stamps and welfare checks”!! Imagine how he must have felt extremely awful we proceeded to contact Human Resources and reported her to them snot her racist remarks.
They said “ oh we will look into it”
Did they ??? No, never !!!!
They allow her to behave like this and it’s been going on for years now !!
Mind you a good percentage of the members that pay her paychecks are African American or of Caribbean descent , in addition many of the members are of the LGBTQ community!!!
Obviously they are not aware of the racism there because if I we’re African American/ Cary, I’d cancel my membership and bring my business to any other gym besides LA Fitness but since they don’t know any of this nor do any members of the LGBTQ community which also many of the members there also identify as LGBTQ !!
So the front desk person who also happens to be of LGBTQ community, and identifies as such ,
Sales Manager The Witch decided she was going to send slanderous/ defamatory emails in retaliation for the front desk guy ,James , to Human Resources, all of which his front desk boss Frank went to Sales Manager The Witch on THREE separate times begging her and telling her to “ stop sending slanderous/ defamatory emails about my employee James who happens to be disabled, he additionally told her that Human Resources, copied Operations Manager Frank on her emails he to sales manager The Witch
Look , I reviewed the cameras each time and everything you’re saying in you’re emails are not in synch with my front desk video footage , stop this, it’s illegal”
Her response was:
“ no I’m not stopping until he’s gone “!!!!
Then she refused to speak to James in excess of 60 days!! James notified HR again that this was a very dangerous situation since on July 12, 2022 James was threatened to be “ SHOT “ by s kid Who was banned from the gym for brandishing a gun and threatening some minors to shoot them too!! Including kids in the kids club!!! (?yes if you have children , that gym is not safe , nor is the kids club!!’
James immediately recognized the guy ( Damien) and said can I see you’re I’d or scan in for me. Obviously he knew he was banned so James said you have to leave , that’s when he said “ I k ow what you drive you know how I roll and that I’m packing!!!
Earlier in that same Day ,Area Manager Robert attempted to “ Terminate “ James because he felt Joni and him could not get along!!
James said ok , I have no disciplinary action, and you want to fire me for HER behavior, go ahead. So we are going from a disabled very reliable employee being completely employed to terminated, james apparently told Robert fire me now or I’m going back to the front desk as it looks busy up there . Area Manager Robert said ok so you think you can work with her, his response was yes, but you need to at least attempt to correct her issues or at least make this a non hostile work environment..
He did nothing, James went back to work and that was the end of that , for now .
Later that same week a janitor went to Sakes Manager The Witch who also has a heart condition he asked her “ I need to go home for 10 minutes to get my nitroglycerin pills for my heart, I live close I’ll be right back less than 10 minutes “!!!
Sales Manager the witch told the janitor
“ you’re heart problem is not my problem, no you stay here and mop the floors!!”
Imagine if he had a heart attack after She denied him to go retrieve his medication he so desperately needed!!????
Then on another occasion another Janitor came to James fir some advice, Donna , apparently told James or asked James what should I do , they are asking all of us to lie in our depositions a pot a guy who seriously injured his leg in the gym due to LA Fitness being negligent for not fixing the leak in the basketball court !!!
Donna asked James “ what should I do because they want me to lie for them ( La ft)
James told her just tell the real truth because lying in a deposition could come with some legal problems for you and the others “ like contempt of court !!
On August 11,2022, James had a slip and fall seriously damaging his right shoulder as the members were getting tired of corporate turning off all the lights in the gym including the locker rooms 15 minutes before they even closed the gym!!
Members were very upset , sometimes they had started leaving the showers running, and had the shower curtains closed , leading anyone that closed the gym that there were people still taking showers in there in the dark , but out of retaliation, they just thought they could cause a flood.
I do know, on that night as James was closing the gym he himself had a serious fall on the wet locker room floor , was laying in a pool of water in the dark for over 30 minutes luckily he had his phone , called 911 they eventually got there,
There are no slip proof mats anywhere in that gym!!
When the paramedics got there they had to stabilize james with the neck brace and try to move him so they could treat him somewhere in the gym where there was lights, james said I believe the lobby stays lit until like midnight, but no that was not true either because in the lobby , as they were checking his vitals , the entire lobby goes pitch black, that’s when they realized the lights were being turned off remotely!!
So the paramedics said let’s get him into the ambulance where we can at least treat him . Do paramedics got him in the ambulance, transferred him to Imperial Point Hospital where they did a lot of scans and XRay on his head neck , shoulder and spine.
James was sent home the next day from the emergency hospital with only 3 days of bedrest, and workers comp immediately started physical therapy 4 times a week and had him seeing an orthopedic surgeon, who decided it was ok for James to go back to work on light duty . Provided LA Fitness follow his suggestion of light duty only and get a proper chair . So james was going to all of these physical therapy sessions, and de visits and still going into work! On November , 15, james went into work , and there was the witches boss , Useless was behind the front desk they were instructed by someone to find a way to terminate James because “ we just want him gone” so they enlisted the help of this young African American Girl Briana , and told her “ we need you to say you saw James do something wrong because we have no legal grounds to fire him we just want him gone, so being a young girl that was told she had to do this or lose her job , she had no choice but to go along with them . Mind you this was November 15th 2022 Yet they had already drawn up these falsified documents on November 11, 2022 They never even told the poor girl that what she was doing was illegal, they just used Jett as a scapegoat, then Fired Her the vey next day and Fired James via the telephone while he was still undergoing physical therapy and going to the orthopedic surgeon for his injuries!!!
James contacted the EEOC , which is overseen by the Department Of Justice, they did their own investigation and obviously after months of investigation they found grounds enough to issue James a “ Right to sue” .as Karma always intervenes, he was assigned the Witches favorite color Attorney, a senior Trial attorney who just happened to be a Harvard Educated Black woman!!!
James is now currently being represented by a major law firm for the defamation slander , wrongful Ty. And La Fitness failure to act responsibly when James was emailing HR begging them to at least attempt to fix the situation with Sales Manager aka the witch, as she was refusing to speak to him at all , even leaving out the back door just so she didn’t have to say anything like a simple “ good night” !!’ James was the only one who had access to the keys to the safest room in the building , in the event off an active shooting , yet the witch was not speaking to him, so that made the situation even more dangerous as there are also children in the kids club..
So then since James Workers comp case had nothing to do with all of the slander , defamation and wrongful termination, LA Fitness again attempted to mess up this disabled person’s life even more by offering him some extremely low amount of money and one of the stipulations was “ if James accepts this settlement ( and not for what he went through injury wise it was very low ) he would agree to withdraw his Labor Claim and not sue them for them making racist remaryagainsr blacks ( mind you James is white) and he said
“ no way I’m not accepting any amount and just forget about everything they did to me and the way they treat their employees, their racist remarks against Jews , Blacks, and Gays. ! He refused to accept hush money , told the workers comp lawyer “ well I guess you worked on this case for a year , for nothing , if you can’t have the verbiage removed , then you wasted you’re time hence you won’t get paid”
The very next day the Workers comp Attorney sent an email to his Labor Attorney which james by law had to be copied on , saying “ Dear Attorney ( fill in the blank) please tell me word for word which verbiage you would like carved out of his settlement offer “
The other Attorney responded “ everything pertaining to James’s Labor claim with the EEOC and DOJ)
The very next day .,, the settlement letter was amended and the verbiage that Jane’s and his attorney wanted removed was, funny how it was done so quickly, mind you they told James “ they will not carve out any verbiage for you “ hmmmm well they did.
So. If you’re giving LA Fitness you’re business , and you’re ok with giving them your money if you’re a person of color, gay, Jewish or anyone else they hate , then basically you’re allowing this to continue, because Joni is still there doing the same things
Lastly , like one week before they fired James he was like a hero to them for two reasons, 1 because he stayed at that gym with BSO when a woman was abducted in the Pompano La Fitness parking lot, she was thrown into her trunk and driven to somewhere on Palm Aire like a storage unit. James stayed with BSO until 2:30 am in the gym assisting 12 BSO officers!!Then that same week , on James shift, they did a corporate visit and got extremely high scores for greetings, overall an excellent visit , that his boss brought to his attention, then the very next week they fired him for “ Poor Job performance “ !!!!!!!! I cannot say names for the sake of my family member's child and family members pricicy, although I will call the main family member B, and her husband J, while their kid will be K. So my name is L, and I have an aunt who's name is B. Her and her husband have been together for a very very long time, married for 16 years. (but off and on for about 8 years before marriage, and she met him when she was 14. She is now in her 40’s.) I should also mention that J has a friend who we will call T for the sake of this story. T also has a wife, and 3 children. T comes into play later. Now, I would like to begin by saying that while J had no job, B was the one making all of the money and supporting everything that J did, with his friends or without them, using all of the money that she made or what he was given by the state. B has a lot of health issues and has to take what some would call a cocktail of pills to manage the pain that she deals with. B has some serious medical issues, along with having kidney and liver issues, appendicitis, and kidney stones. All of these things are what caused her to stop being the sole breadwinner for the household. Once J became the money maker, he would refuse to give her the money that she would need for basic necessities such as body wash, shampoo, or food that would have been used for B and their child K. B had suspicion that J was cheating on her, but never confronted him about it because she wanted to believe that he wouldn't do that to her. (He was in fact cheating, and B later found out that he was cheating with many of the people that she had thought were her “girlfriends” but this has a point too.) One of the days that he was “at work” and B was at home with K, she took her usual cocktail of pills that got her through the day. Previously to this event, J had installed cameras all around the inside and outside of the house, because B was caught stealing shampoo and body wash for K. His reasoning for putting the cameras up was so that B wouldn’t steal anything from him, even though she was stealing because he would not provide the necessary funds so that his wife and child could have their bodies washed. Despite this B was able to hide this from her child, and keep her child unaware of anything that her father was having her mother do. Now, B takes the pills, but this day she had been cleaning the house so she hadn’t had time to eat or drink much. She takes the pills on a damn near empty stomach and about five minutes later she passes out on the kitchen floor. Now of course J sees this on the cameras and does the bare minimum of leaving “work” and calling 911 for his wife. Although when the ambulance came to pick B up, he didn’t ask if she was okay. He didn’t go with her to the hospital, nore did he take their child to go see her mother while she was in the hospital. Instead B was met with the locks on her doors being changed (although her name is also on the lease with her husband), along with her not even having the glasses or shoes that she would normally wear. The only thing she was left with was her phone, not anything else. Then J only proceeds to let her come back and live with him because her kid misses her, and because she is taking care of J’s father. J’s family constantly talks badly about B to her kid, and among themselves. Now back to J’s friend T. J and T have hooked up a multitude of times in the bed that J and B once shared together. Along with constantly harassing B for pictures and videos of sexual things, and asking repeatedly for threesomes with J and T, and making advances on her even when she didn’t want them. J likes to pressure B into “putting out” for him, and when she refuses to do so, he calls her horrible names, a bad mother, and kicks her out of the place that they share all over again. J also likes to comment and harass B on the “other boyfriends” that she has, although she has never been with anyone but him. And when she is gone, picking me up from friends' houses or getting food for and or with me, he likes to text her non-stop, and locks the door on her if she has been out too long. Now I would like to mention that what J is doing to B has damaged her mentality strongly, and has severely impacted the way that she sees herself. She does not want to fight him for the sake of her child, but I care for her deeply and know that she nor her child deserve to be in such a dangerous environment with such a hostile person. I know that she wants to leave, but she is afraid that J will destroy her. How can I help her?

Long post. But this is literally the first time I have ever told my story. I started adderall during my first year in college (2016), and here we are, prescribed 30mg 3x daily. I run out within a week! And I spend up to $400-$600/month on more from people I know. If I don’t have adderall, IT IS A NIGHTMARE. I have called out of work multiple times because there is no way I can adequately care for my patients if I do not have any. I get SO depressed. Sometimes even suicidal. (It’s not that I’m sad I don’t have adderall, I have thoughts that I’m a bad mom because I missed a football practice bc of work, or I forgot to send money with my son to get ice cream at school, etc). I tear myself down so bad, I SLEEP NON STOP and when/if I’m awake, I’m crying so hard until I’m finally able to get adderall into my system. Then I’m perfectly fine! It’s like night and day. And I know it has to be traumatizing for my boys (11yrs & 4yrs) to see me when I’m like that. Although they have helped me in so many ways to get through those times (bc my husband completely ignores me, bc I’m sure he’s fed up with me and my addiction and don’t care to tend towards me, but hell, can you blame him? 🤦🏼‍♀️). As a mother, I should not be allowing my boys to see me like that as often as they do. It literally eats me alive wandering what I am doing to my boys bc of this addiction. As I’ve read through many post, I feel like others, “I absolutely cannot live without it”. Because I TRULY cannot see myself being able to function daily if I don’t take it. I work up to 60-72 hours a week on night shift. I have to stay up for my shift, in addition, I feel guilty if I sleep all day because my 4 year old sure as hell doesn’t want Mommy sleeping all day. He’ll say things like “Mommy please don’t sleep today”. So I pop more addy, and I stay up to make my boy happy. HOW in the hell is one able to completely function without some sort of stimulate working nights and as many hours as I do, on top of making time for kids during the day? 8/10 nurses I work nights with are on adderall/vivaynse/etc. I don’t know the extent of their use. But I feel like taking a stimulant is the only way to be able to function properly. And to add, I HAVE to work that many hours, I HAVE to work night shift. I can’t cut back nor switch to dayshift. Trust me, when that day comes I feel I’d be able to have the willpower to decrease my use significantly. Until then, am I just going to live this cycle forever? Also to add, I just recently had a doc tell me that my long term adderall usage is what has caused 95% of health issues I’m dealing with. Hard to control high blood pressure, tachycardia, decrease blood flow to extremities, etc. Ticking time bomb over here 🤦🏼‍♀️ Never in a million years would I have thought my life would be so dependent on a drug. Nor would I ever believe I could ever allow my boys to see me at my lowest, multiple times. Advice, kind words, harsh words, something. Some kind of hope. That’s really what I’m needing from this long ass post.

The sun-dappled forest exuded a serene yet peaceful tranquility, remaining undisturbed from common occurrences. Trees motionless stood unperturbed by the elements of the weather. Gentle rivers meandered, carrying tiny fish and pebbles in their currents. Birds serenaded each other from atop their nests, singing songs to their young and to their lovers.
The peaceful landscape remained undisturbed until a deafening roar suddenly shattered the tranquility. The powerful eruption shook the trees, rippled the waters, and startled flocks of birds into a panicked flight. Contrary to the ominous disruption, the source of the booming sound was not from a fearsome predator that roamed the land nor a monstrous creature that invoked fear and terror to the wildlife, but rather a small, orange-haired girl with horns as long as her arms, tipsy as she walked down through the woods with a gourd in hand and chains dragging from behind. The roar itself wasn’t even a roar, but an alcohol-breath burp right after she took a swig from her gourd.
“Ah, nothing says it like strolling around the forest with sake in hand.” She said to herself. “With wind in my face, grass beneath my feet, and basking in the warmth of that big ball of fire up in the blue sky.”
She spread her arms out like a bird ready to take flight. “The surface is great! It’s nothing like the dull dark depths of the Former Capital, I don’t know what everyone was thinking telling me coming up here was a bad idea. It’s so much fun! Ahahaha~”
As she ventured deeper into the forest, her laughter rang out boisterously, reminiscent of a foolish, drunken man stumbling from a bar or an overjoyed child finding amusement in the simplest things. However, this mirth gradually subsided, dwindling to mere chuckles before fading to complete silence as she approached a large, strangely-shaped tree with a trunk that resembled a natural seat. Settling down, her expression shifted to one of boredom. A long sigh escaped her lips, and she blinked a couple times facing towards the ground.
After a few minutes of sobering up, she spoke, “Who am I kidding? The surface sucks. None of the animals pose a challenge, the human villagers don’t show fear since they don’t recognize what I am, and the youkai don’t take me seriously. Us oni haven’t been gone that long, so why aren’t we threatening?”
She picked up a nearby rock and threw it a good distance away from her. The rock struck a tree, ripping through its bark and left behind a hand-sized wound for the innocent timber.
“Not like I can go back down and admit to everyone I was wrong. I’d be a coward. No oni of any stature would dare return weak.”
A brief moment of silence, as though she expected a response. But no, it was quiet and lonesome.
“Sigh…I wish I had someone to talk to at the very least. If only I knew how to contact Yukari.” She slumped further down the tree’s stump, filled with a hint of sorrow beneath her aloof demeanor.
That’s when she heard something close by. She raised her head and looked towards the direction of the sound from behind the tree, a voice being that of a young girl with some gruffness in her tone.
“Haven’t checked here yet, hopefully there’s something roaming here. Maybe I’ll find a new insect to catch along the way. Wouldn’t it be nice to have another bug for our collection Mimi?”
The figure soon walked around the tree and revealed herself to the oni. It was a girl with long black messy hair, with a face that had a couple bandages, and a red-black outfit that resembled more like boy’s clothing than a girl’s. In her hand was a small stuffed shrine maiden doll. The two stared at one another blankly with surprised faces, but neither one spoke for what felt like ages.
“Who are you?” The tomboyish girl asked. The other felt nervous to speak suddenly, she didn’t expect to encounter anyone far deep in the woods. Her mind raced with a million options, and she settled with one.
“Well well well, if it isn’t a naive innocent human, coming all the way to my domain!” She said, standing upright with a dominant nature. “To think someone as brave as you dare come face-to-face with an oni such as myself! I commend you, but don’t think you can leave now.” She said, showing her teeth in order to be threatening.
“An oni?” The girl asked. “You mean the youkai from the stories I’ve been told?”
“Why yes. A member of a powerful race that humans feared for centuries. With our tremendous strength and staggering height, we are superior to you in every way. You have every right to be afraid.”
She expected her to be trembling, shaken down to her shoes. Yet she wasn’t, she simply stood in front of her, looking down a little.
“Aren’t you…a little short to be an oni?”
All that dominating confidence swayed from that statement, a red blush formed on her face to show.
“T-That’s not important. What is important is that you need to fear me.”
“Why?”
“W-Why? She’s asking why?” She thought. “How do I respond to that? Dammit, why can’t people just be scared for no reason?”
She wondered how to get her to fear her, when a growl from her stomach interrupted her thoughts.
“Oh, are you hungry? I brought a couple of onigiris with me; you can have one if you want.” The other girl offered, pulling out a fresh triangular ball of rice in front of the oni.
She looked at the food presented, her mouth watering with hunger. She at first wanted to refuse, denying herself the pleasure of food she did not earn. But her stomach redetermined her values so she hastily took the onigiri and shoved it in her mouth without a second thought. The taste of something that wasn’t stale or raw filled her tongue with pleasure, allowing something other than alcoholic intoxication.
“You better?” The tomboyish girl asked.
“Yeah. Much better.” She said, relieved she no longer felt empty as she patted her tummy.
“So, what’s your name?”
“My name? It’s uh…Suika.” Suika said.
“Cool. My name’s Minako. And this lil maiden right here is Mimi.” Minako held up the shrine maiden doll up closer so Suika could see. She thought it was cute, yet contrasting to Minako’s rougher appearance.
“Hm…Well then, I ask again: What’s a human like you doing all the way out here in the woods?” Suika asked.
“Easy, I’m looking for something big to fight. My mom told me the best way to get stronger is by taking down something bigger than you, so I figured I try my luck around here. Have you seen any big creatures nearby?”
“Something to fight you say? Well, I think I fit that description. I don’t look like it, but I’ve won more fights than the number of times you’ve eaten rice.” Suika boasted, attempting to taunt Minako. The latter however let out a short laugh.
“Yeah, sorry Suika, I said I’m looking for something big, tall, tremendous in stature.” She raised her arms up wide to further show what she meant.
“H-hey, I can be big if I want!” Suika expressed her annoyance at the girl’s lack of fright. She could easily grow twice her size and pick her up like how she picks up her own doll. But she didn’t feel like wanting to harm her; instead another idea came to mind.
“Actually, I think I know one that’s close.”
Soon after, Suika led Minako to an open part of the woods belonging to a creature she knew of. There they both witnessed a large bear, minding itself to a berry bush. The bear was quite large, massive compared to most bears that roamed Gensokyo. Though gentle in the way it nibbled on the bush of berries, its hulking body made it appear to be fearsome.
“Okay, you see that bear there?” Suika pointed while she and Minako hid behind the trees. “You think you can handle 'em?”
“I-I’m not sure. I never fought a bear before.” Minako said with slight anxiety.
“Relax, if anything goes wrong I’ll pull you out, trust me, I’m an oni, we’re always honest.”
“If you say so.” Minako said, placing her Mimi doll safely beside the tree, telling it to stay put. She then began to approach the bear slowly, creeping towards it. Suika meanwhile laughed to herself, thinking of what she expected the outcome to be.
“Hehe, she probably has no idea how dangerous bears really are. All it’ll take is one roar and she’ll be cowering beneath, then I’ll swoop in, give the bear a one-two, and have her honor me as her superior.”
The bear quickly took notice of Minako’s approach. It rose up on its back legs, growling loudly as it made its warning clear to the girl, before moving to strike with its massive paws. Minako however, did not cower, nor scream with fear like Suika expected; rather she took a firm stance, clenched her fist, and jump-spun-uppercutted the bear by the chin, hitting so hard the bear flew up by a couple meters, and crashed back down the ground out cold.
Suika was stunned, her eyes wide as dinner plates and her mouth slightly open from what she witnessed.
“D…Did…you just…uppercut a bear!?” Suika asked, seeing Minako return and pick back up her doll.
“I did. Didn’t expect the bear to go down so easily.” Minako said.
“But I thought you said you never fought a bear before!”
“I haven’t. Though, I do have experience fighting wolves. And Kappa. And Tengu. And at least 20 different species of youkai. Though my mom has fought much more threatening creatures…Oh, that reminds me, I need to head home soon for dinner, it’s starting to get late!”
Minako began to float up from the ground, an act that would make Suika even more surprised than ever. What she thought was a normal adventurous girl turned out to be a human who exceeded all expectations. Meeting such a person presenting such strength made her feel not as lonely as she did earlier.
“Wait!” She called out before Minako could take off. Minako looked over at Suika with a curious glance.
“Um…If you want, I know some other areas with creatures as strong as the bear. If you come visit again I can show you where they are.”
Minako stayed silent for a second, “...Sure, I like that actually. I’ll be sure to return tomorrow.”
And like that she left, and Suika watched her fly off east, now with a smile she didn’t have before.
The next day Minako came as she said she would, and Suika showed her where they could find more creatures to fight. Once again Minako proved to be quite strong and took down the creature with ease, before heading home that same evening. Overtime Minako came to visit Suika to find more beings to fight; sometimes it was a big beast, other times a mischievous youkai, and oftentimes a young fairy of ice trying to prove itself over and over.
Not all days consisted of finding something to fight. On certain occasions the two would go explore, find places they have yet to discover. Other days they would catch insects, something Minako herself was fond of and gladly showed Suika how to do herself. On a particular day, Suika let Minako try sake for the first time; long story short it did not sit well with her. Regardless, they became close friends.
On a certain day, when the sky was a nice evening orange, the two sat by the edge of the forest, talking to one another about their concerns, their worries. Suika told Minako about how she came from the underworld after a bold claim that she could make everyone recall the legacy the oni race left behind, only to come up short and be alone. Mianko told Suika about her mother, and how strict she could be with her training and who she’s allowed to socialize with, resulting in her not having as many friends as she hoped. Her closest friend for the longest time was her doll Mimi, who she always took with her whenever she left the house for the day, because Mimi always kept her company. They realized they have more in common than they first thought.
Eventually like all days, their time to hang out came to an end, and Minako had to return home. She got up and was set to leave again, when she decided on something she hadn’t done before. She turned to Suika, handing her her Mimi doll.
“Eh? You’re giving this to me?” Suika asked. “But this is your precious doll, are you sure?”
“Of course I’m sure. Mimi always kept me company, now it’s her turn to keep you company.” Minako said.
Suika appreciated the act. She looked at the little shrine maiden doll, looking at its dotted eyes and sewed-on smile. A small tear formed in her eye, one she wiped away quickly and returned a thankful smile to her friend.

Nevermo agnostic here. So I’ve read about how tough it can be to go on a mission. Having to pay monthly expenses, missing family, and possibly being pretty flat broke. It’s dangerous to talk to strangers, and can be isolating.I live in a nice area on the west coast so these kids already have it relatively good. But my friend had some missionaries visit so I told her to give them my number. Here’s my question:
1) When they stop by, what would be the most helpful thing to offer them? Hot meal? Just telling them there is a single safe human in the area they can call if they ever need help? A good pair of walking shoes? A particular dish they might miss from home? I read about funeral potatoes but don’t know if those are only for funerals. They sound great.
2) Is it a terrible waste of their time if I don’t convert? I won’t. For sure. But like…if we hang out and talk and I feed and water them and say kind things, is that worth it for them? I know they are under pressure and don’t want to make things worse for them by hogging their time if they need to hit a Jesus quota.
3) Anything else I should know? My plan is not to try to change their minds about anything, I’m not a reverse missionary. But… is there anything that you wish someone had said to you? I do enjoy talking philosophy and spirituality. Is sitting around asking questions about the nature of god rude or is it the whole point?
4) we have a big temple in the area but you have to drive about 45 minutes. Do they have cars? Do they have people to take them to see cool stuff? I wasn’t sure if they would want to see it and whether they had the ability. Should I take them to six flags? I am just a freakishly enthusiastic tour guide and the idea of someone coming out to the coolest place ever just to have to work the whole time is a bummer. I want them to leave here thinking it was a great place to be. I guess it’s pride haha. But it’s like a very cool place and they’re so young they should get to make good memories.

On top of this we have OpenAIs new focus on emotional attachement via the GPT-4o announcement. A potentially dangerous direction by developing highly emotional voice output and the ability to read someones emotional well being by the sound of their voice. This should also be a privacy concern for people. I've heard about Ilya being against this decision as well, saying there is little for AI to gain by learning voice modality other than persuasion. Sadly I couldn't track down in what interview he said this so take it with a grain of salt.
We also have leaks about aggressive tactics to keep former employees quiet. Just recently OpenAI removed a clause allowing them to take away vested equity from former employees. With all this I think it's quite clear why people are leaving. I personally would have left the company with just half of these decisions. I think they are heading in a very dangerous direction and they won't have my support going forward unfortunately. Just Sad to see where Sam is going with all of this.
