Hi! This is my first post on this group, and I'm just looking for a little advice. My mom is on these drugs daily for A-fib, cholesterol, high blood pressure:
- Losartan (high blood pressure and reduce risk of stroke)
- Diltiezem (high blood pressure and calcium channel blocker)
- Metaprolol (beta blocker for high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat) (2 times a day)
- Eliquis (reduce risk of stroke and blood clots in people with A-fib) (2 times a day)
- Lipitor (cholesterol)
It seems since she's been on them, she feels absolutely terrible ALL the time, like they're poisoning her. On top of it, she's lost her taste for a lot of things, which I've read is a side effect of many of these. Does anyone have any advice on whether or not ALL of these drugs are necessary? It seems like overkill, but I'm not a doctor. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.
