Hi! This is my first post on this group, and I'm just looking for a little advice. My mom is on these drugs daily for A-fib, cholesterol, high blood pressure:
  1. Losartan (high blood pressure and reduce risk of stroke)
  2. Diltiezem (high blood pressure and calcium channel blocker)
  3. Metaprolol (beta blocker for high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat) (2 times a day)
  4. Eliquis (reduce risk of stroke and blood clots in people with A-fib) (2 times a day)
  5. Lipitor (cholesterol)
It seems since she's been on them, she feels absolutely terrible ALL the time, like they're poisoning her. On top of it, she's lost her taste for a lot of things, which I've read is a side effect of many of these. Does anyone have any advice on whether or not ALL of these drugs are necessary? It seems like overkill, but I'm not a doctor. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.
