I just finished a hard fight in sector eleven, boss fight. The fight before the real two stage boss fight. That fight was quite exciting and i used a pump to revive for just a couple more damage points. Then after the fight Alex comments about how intense the fight was. Eve reacts to him in a very militaristic way. Something in the line of: let’s s get going to do the rest of the mission. I don’t t like this reaction, it’s too matter of fact. Not acknowledging the players effort also. Is this a way of her being cool and show no emotion? I played Nier Automata and emotions are part of 2B’s storyline. Eve is just a little too stoic for me i guess. I like the game and enjoy Eve, but I wish she was a little more relatable in this way.

As someone who plays a lot of souls-like games, this game really frustrates me in a bad way. For reference I've been doing a souls marathon so I've come off of playing Elden Ring (just a ng run), Stellar Blade just a ng run), Lies of P (NG+3 For all the endings), Bloodborne (just a ng run), and steelrising (just a ng run).
Some good things though:
Exploration is rewarding, feels a lot like the original dark souls in how everything is connected, graphics are good, combat feels good, umbral lamp is a very cool mechanic.
Things that annoy me to no end:
Unfair level design - the checkpoint system is too far apart, I've lost progress more times than I can count and if they meant for us to use the seeds, then make it a infinite consumable but only one at a time. Enemies are put in places for the sole purpose of griefing you. It's not like other souls games where you know that a monster might be around the corner so you should keep your guard up just in case, no, in this game they appear out of thin air without warning.
Bosses - I mean.. I'm not far in, but when I got to the first real one (Pieta) I had a good time parrying her and managed to win without being killed and going umbral. So I figured bosses will be fair like her and for the most part they were until hushed saint, this boss was so stupid I grinded fron lvl25 to 46 so I could equip the weapon I wanted and even then it took 5 times after that. Can't wait to see what else they got.
I know this is like a trash session on the game, I'm just frustrated and I'm going to take it to the end.

Here I am after finishing DL1. Starting DL2 not with high expectations, but with the same expectations as DL1. Just wanna enjoy the sequel of great franchise.
And oh boy, from the very moment I started the sequel I feel like someone keeps kicking me in the balls hard.
Starting with the fked up brightness. Everything is fkn dark, and don't dare to raise Gamma level from video settings, otherwise you fk up the picture's quality.
Fair enough, you gave me a flash light like DL1. Okay. Alright, I'm gonna use the flash light to see with. But naaaah, this is when this developers who haven't received love from their parents kick me in the balls again with turning OFF my flash light every fkn time there is a cutscene. And I have to fkn turn it back ON. AAAAH.
Ok. I've looted a machete. Cool let's use it. Normally in 99.99% of games , you swing any blade. You swing the fkn blade and you slash your enemies. Yup. DL2 is the 00.01% where you swing the blade, and sometimes the game decides it's a good move to push the infected with it instead if fkn slashing them!!!
Aight.. aight. Ok. Now I wanna save my game cuz I got some important stuff to do. And here is another fkn kick in my balls again. The game is based on autosave system. What the fk does this mean? It means you can't save the game whenever you like, and maybe if you wanna sleep or go to fkn school or fkn college or fkn work, the developers decided it's a good idea to leave the players fkn hanging, forcing them to close the fkn game and when they open it back, the game loads at a pre-decided autosaved point. Ofc that means you say bye bye to any early point in the game. What's done is done. You can't repeat a scene in the game. Naaaaah. You have to repeat the whole fkn game from the beginning to repeat that scene.

I managed to get the highest score this month in a single round of Jaipur at our local game cafe this month. I’m pretty excited as 1) I never usually win competitions 2) I’m relatively new to the hobby so this seems like a cool reward whilst being so new 3) we get a date night at the cafe so I’m keen to try some new games 🥰
I’ve also managed to get a lovely second hand Carcassonne for a fair price so I’ve added to our collection, helped myself during cossie livs and also saved the planet.
We’ve just been away as well - good old uk weather got involved - so I was able to keep my neice entertained teaching her to play Splendor. She’s also having a bit of a tough time so it was lovely to be able to keep her entertained away from screens etc, without her thinking it was boring.

CPU: i7-10700KF, Graphics Card: RTX 2060, Motherboard: Gigabyte B560M, RAM: 16GB DDR3, Windows is installed on an M.2 SSD and I have a separate M.2 SSD for storage. My PC has extremely high CPU usage during simple tasks like opening Discord or being in the League of Legends client. Initially, it was due to thermal throttling, but I changed my cooling system to a new one from Be Quiet!. My temperatures are now fine (50-70°C) and my CPU no longer thermal throttles (tested using CPU-Z).
I uninstalled everything and freshly installed Windows 10. This helped a bit (Discord and my browser no longer use 100% CPU), but I still can't play League of Legends or any other games I used to play. The games take forever to load and as soon as I start them, the CPU usage hits 100%, and loading anything takes a long time. Even in-game, the situation doesn't improve much.
I have tried the basics like updating drivers and updating Windows, but the issue persists. I hope you can help me as I am pretty clueless about what the problem could be. If you need more information, please let me know.

The game is completely amazing, and beautifully detailed.
I have 300 hrs on the game, quite passionate about it. However, I can't seem to get into Water, and Trading.
Is it me alone who finds these aspects of the game utterly pathetic? Like, just bad. It's like a doodle of an idea. Trading looks so bad, it does not add anything cool in the game I think.
Now water, I am feeling always forced to play it, never enthousiast about it. Ships are so inconvenient, clunky.
Water fights? Lol am I the only one to mega cringe when I look at it? Imo they look real, real bad. It has no rythm, no harmony with rest of the game (my opinion). I hate hybrid maps. Which I feel like I shouldn't... but hey 😀

Hello friends of the GoG community, hope you guys/gals are having a great weekend!
Today i have a request of a beloved franchise in the JRPG department, as you can see in the title, it is the multi faceted delight that is Persona 5 Royal. I personally can't deny that it really lives up to the name of being royal, given the games aesthetic, gameplay and overall stylish presentation. (its so darn good...)

What is persona 5?

I assume most of you are familiar with the genre, it has the classic turn based combat you generally know from, say, the pokemon or final fantasy franchise. But one of the things that makes Persona stand out from its competerors, is its social aspects between the dungeons. you hang out with friends to go further into their personal story (you can also romance) complete tasks like jobs or just explore the city of Tokyo, along other activities. There is a great cast of characters that are interesting in their own way and i would love to learn about them in depth and bond a personal connection. Just on the side, i find it funny when people talk about the "post persona depression" xD it really says a lot about the awesome experience, i think. Which sparks my interest, since i love to dive deep into fictional worlds and get lost in it for a while. (i think you guys can relate :D)
The visuals of the game are off the charts awesome, if you have seen it, you know what i'm talking about. In the game you impersonate a male high school student (and phantom thieve in the fighting segments) JokeRen. You and your group fight corrupt adults to expose their crimes by... going into the metaverse, where peoples desires and thoughts take shape. That is such a cool concept!!

The game has been on my radar for a long time and i would be more than blessed to experience this masterpiece. As to my personal reasons why i can't buy it for myself, is because i've been out of funds to contribute to my favorite hobby due to being a student, so it is hard to afford such a pricy game at the moment. I hope this becomes an option someday since we now have multiple companions. It would be cool to have the option to dungeons with just companions. It would of course be optional and the option to play with real player should still be there!
-It would be a great way for newer players to get more comfortable doing dungeons. I held off on doing dungeons for a long time because I was so scared that the other players wouldn’t have any patience.
-Sometimes players want to get dungeons done and over with. Some players like to take their time. With a team of companions everyone is on the same page!
-You know what you’re getting when you choose your companions. You pick your tank/healedps and can choose their skills that best fit with your play style.
-If you’re grinding for a particular set in a dungeon, it can be tough to find a team that is willing to do that same dungeon over and over again.
-Some players are just shy and would prefer the option to play with NPCs.
-Level up multiple companions at the same time!
What do you guys think? I hope this might be a thing in the future. I always think that with video games the more options available the better!

I currently have a VM server with a Supermicro X9DRi-LN4 motherboard in a 1U chassis. It has served me well for casual home use, but it is very noisy and draws about 220W on average according to a power meter I installed at the wall. I also bought a rack for it long ago that takes up a lot of space that I would like to reclaim.
I've been researching for about two weeks now and I think I've come up with a replacement build I like. I would appreciate any comments pointing out anything critical I've missed (for example there's no way your drives would fit in that case, or that PSU won't support the motherboard, not enough cooling - you get the idea).
I plan on running GNU/Linux Debian 12 with the Xen hypervisor configured, because I'm used to it and as far as I can tell Xen is a good choice for security based on Qubes OS forums and the companies on the Xen security advisory lists. I considered Proxmox (KVM), but I just prefer Xen. I want the VMs (domUs) to run on ZFS zvols and I chose to use ECC RAM because it is recommended by TrueNAS forums. I will use ZFS mirroring.
My VM usage is light to medium and there are only a small number of users - git server, file server that downloads all my GOG games once a week with lgogdownloader, and some supporting VMs. I would like headroom for tinkering with things that are potentially more intense like Graylog and anything else I'm curious about. I don't do any transcoding and don't plan to.
As mentioned above, my goals are to reduce noise, power usage and physical size. I only plan on using 4 x 3.5" HDDs, I have no plans to use SSDs anytime soon, but the option is there. The build I came up with is pricier than I'd like, but I think it will last a long time:

• Supermicro X12SDV-4C-SP6F (Xeon D-1718T integrated, the D-1500 series just feels too old at this point)

Does this build seem sane?

Only recently, my ps5 has shut off without any warning mid game of either ultimate team or clubs, it happens even straight away when I turn on my ps5 no matter how hot it is. My friend told me I can get a refund on this as I bought the PlayStation during the time they were manufactured with the cooling system fault, I am still unsure though. Any tips?

Having spent a few years away from the game, I'm fairly unfamiliar with how "seasons" work (although I'm finding it a very cool feature to get free goodies).
I know they run for a limited time, but what happens when a season ends? Do you lose all the tickets you have left, or do your tickets carry over to the next season? Does the game give you a heads up when a season is coming to an end? Like a warning message during the final week of the season, to allow you to spend your remaining tickets before the prizes disappear?
