Wishes for a new job

F31 M35, So, we've been dating 2 years, now we're engaged. long story short: I left my country to live with him in a place where I can easily communicate in English but the language is other, which I've been studying even before getting here. So, I moved in late January. My career is hard to fit here because it is very specific to my home country and if I wish to do it here I'd have to go to college and start from zero., so for now I'm working as a "hostess", more like waitress in a sports club where he plays squash. Everything was going okay, I know it is impossible to find a perfect match, we all have flaws and we're not perfect. Here goes what has been in my mind the last 2 days and I haven't told him a word about it. The thing is that in that club works a woman that is mean and rude to me and every time she sees me gives me a bitch look and recently she made a comment about my eyebrows, which I found not appropriate for a work environment and obviously we're not friends. This, during a conversation about a benefit that was included in the handbook/policy of the club which I wanted to make valid and she said that was a mistake that someone included it but it was not that way and a lot of BS. Idk exactly her position but she does something related to administration of the club. another detail, whenever she sees my fiancé she jumps and gets close to him and she talks and she laughs and etc. My fiancé goes there almost everyday to play or just to work and we've lunch together. So, I finished my shift and I told him what she said to me and that I didn't like it and he said this: "I don't know what to say I don't like to be in the middle" and I told him oh so you are in the middle and he replied yeah I come to this club and I love it and now you are telling me only negative things about it". to what I felt unsupported and uncomfortable and I left immediately. I mean, I have been complaining because there are things that aren't cool in the club, also I don't like it because in my previous jobs I was a person in a leadership role and now im cleaning tables, which I don't love but I can manage. What bothered me a lot was his attitude and now I feel like it is not worth it to be here.
now I don't know if im overreacting or what.

Sure it’s good that they are adding another map, but I felt like that when Remagen was released, then Mortain and now this one. It’s yet another Western theater map.
I don’t understand why they create a whole new faction with new guns and uniforms and everything, and then just ditch it forever in favor of another US vs Axis map.
The only new map was Kharkov which is a nice map but I honestly think they have a lot of way better options to choose from, like Berlin for example.
Other than that one map, we have seen 0 new maps for the Soviets and British while getting 3 new US ones.
My point is not that the devs are neglecting the game or doing a bad job, it’s that they aren’t focused on the right things.

Interviewing for a new job and seeking advice and insight about working at either of these organizations (especially from anyone who has worked in a salaried, full-time position at Harley or AutismUp).

I just started a new job which requires me to work from home and a couple days in the office. I currently take adderall and wakix and normally it keeps me awake. However when I’m sitting down for long periods of time, And I’m cold in the office, I WILL fall asleep. I tried drinking a Celsius to stay awake but energy drinks are the equivalent of drinking a caprisun (same with coffee). Standing also does nothing, they used to make me stand in middle school and HS and I would fall asleep standing and fall :/.
I Really wanna keep this job it pays well, and I’m the youngest person here and I know I’ll do well… when I’m awake.
Any tips for working from home?
When I’m doing a job where I’m constantly moving I don’t have this problem.

There were 8.06 million available jobs posted in April, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) report released Tuesday. That’s below the downwardly revised 8.36 million seen a month before and the lowest since February 2021.
Economists were expecting job openings to register 8.36 million, according to FactSet estimates.
As of April, there were an estimated 1.2 available jobs for every job seeker. That’s the lowest ratio since June 2021, BLS data shows.
A slowing of job growth could put the labor market on closer footing to pre-pandemic levels, but it also could mean a slowing in the broader economy. The Federal Reserve, in its battle against high inflation, is wanting to see demand soften and price hikes slow even further before cutting rates.”

I (17 m) have anxiety and depression that has lead to suicidal ideation, self harm, and aggression when confronted. Due to this I just stopped going to school as I really don't want to hurt people so I opted to just avoid people and lock myself in my room and do my own thing. Because I stopped going to school my Parents decided to take the PC I built saying it would get it back in 2 months or once I returned to school. After 2 months I wasn't home as I was at a Youth Psychology Center where you live and they adjust medications and do health groups etc. Because of this when I visited home on weekends every once in a while we never got the PC set up as it would be more hassle but I asked if 8 could have it back after I'd discharged and they agreed. Once I'd discharged in mid spring and I asked about my PC they said I'd have to wait until summer starts. I wait until summer and once again I'm told to wait this time the requirement is to start school and keep grades above a B. School comes around and I go in and keep my grades at A's and B's but they never gave my PC back. As I was focusing on this I forgot about the PC until we had a 3 day weekend where my friends were going to game and I wanted to take part so I once again inquired about my PC to which they responded that I had to get a job for 4 months before I got it back. At this time I realized that the date was either constantly pushed back or new requirements were added so I asked about this and instead of talking they left the house with my siblings for the rest of the day. After this I stopped going to school again and once again locked myself away doing nothing but reading Novels and trying to build an RPG. I stopped helping with everything relating to the family and just kept to myself using an old family laptop and Google Docs yo write Backstory and Storylines for my RPG. After I missed several appointments my parents confronted me and I told them that if they want anything from me I need them to pay their debts and give my PC back which has been gone for 2 years already. Because of this they got mad and took more things away. This time the laptop I was using to write and read ebooks (my main way of coping with stress for like 4 years now which they are aware of.) AITAH?

So I've lived in the US for 14 years of my life (only 4 in Canada) and I speak only fluent/native English. I'm looking to go to a university in a different country and live there after graduating. My general goal is ease of getting a livable
What I'm looking for:

• preferably countries that speak primarily English (as I'm not sure if I have enough time to learn fluency in another language right away),
  • will definitely consider other countries if there are English classes in that area so I can practice more of the new language while intergrating
  • will consider others that meet the other criteria
• liberal / queer friendly
  • I go by they/them and I want to live in a place where people respond well to that
  • countries that give legal rights/assistance to queer people (ex: ability to legally change gender or name) would be super helpful.
  • Would appreciate some place more environmentally conscious than the US.
• livable work
  • ability to get a job or freelance while in school
  • ability to pay for basic housing
  • keep up with college expenses / reasonably paid off debt
• reasonable/low cost college education
• walkability and/or public transport
• reasonable ability for me to get citizenship
  • can become a citizen with general language proficiency/fluency, hopefully less than a decade on visas, permanent residency, etc
• (not required, but wanted) possibility of freelancing while on a student visa

My Situation:
Even though I live in the US I only have a visa here- my citizenship is actually Canadian. My family is South Indian and I have noticeably brown skin.
I have a high school diploma where I graduated a year early. I have 3 AP exams, two with a score of 3 and one with a score of 4. I went to a (community) college for 2 semesters (studied almost all the general core classes, no degree) with an average GPA of 3.7
Currently enrolled in a university near my home at mom's request (because it was only 15 minutes away), don't start classes until the fall semester. My mom has had a change of heart and said she's okay if I go international- which is actually what I wanted from the start. Will drop out if it won't contribute to moving international.
I only really have a few hundred USD in cash. My parents have insisted to pay for my college but regardless I want to go to one that is generally very affordable. They will likely be the ones getting me off the ground financially when I make the move but I want to find somewhere I can work to pay for everything independently.
I've learned the basics of driving. I have an adult permit, but not a license, in my state. Not really interested in driving when I move and would much prefer walkability / public transport instead.
Would be perfectly fine living with roommates in college and as long as I need to afterwards.
I'm not planning to have any children and don't need a big house in the future, a decent sized apartment is also fine. Not interested in drinking culture. Only planning to live with or near my partner (who is also planning to get a degree and work) and maybe some pets over time. Looking to eventually have just one long-term close friend group wherever I move.
Interested in working freelance on the side if I can. Would love studying related to visual art in some way (ig whatever is in higher demand). Would take psychology if I can get a livable job in the field within a few years / just with a bachelor's style degree.
Places I've ruled out:
Canada: extreme housing crisis
Japan: inability to integrate as a foreigner, demanding work culture (but visiting would be nice!)
Finland: Finnish is considered extremely difficult to learn, will apparently have to get a job before moving or residency is close to impossible- this would be more difficult because I don't have experience in the job market.
Considered and what I currently know (basic research, in order of which is most appealing to my criteria):
Norway: No real tuition for studying publicly (great plus) other than a small fee per semester, cost of living will be generally expensive compared to other places but less than US, language is not too difficult to learn- especially with English (and German, which I have no experience in), people are generally friendly but may keep to themselves, decent work/life balance, general safety
Netherlands: better work/life balance, safer, public transport (train access and biker friendly), Dutch may be difficult to learn and making friends may take some more time, possibly glaring housing crisis, tuition + cost of living is higher than other countries but much less than US
Sweden: It's apparently really difficult to integrate / make friends with anyone local, language barriedifficulty, generally dark weather (which is totally fine but takes some getting used to), said to be much easier to afford living here
Australia: English speaking is super helpful, heard it's a lot safer, brightesunnier, apparently issues with cost of living, visa might be expensive
England: Practices mainly English which would be extremely helpful, will probably rule out for education cost being about just as high as my current university, visited once on a trip to Europe- seen more environmentally conscious decisions in London than the US.
Switzerland: Seems to be very expensive to live there, high work standards, not sure how difficult it is to integrate, visited once on a trip to Europe
Italy: Seemed to have legal complications for queer people from what I heard, visited once on a trip to Europe- enjoyed the atmosphere but don't know too much
France: visited once on a trip to Europe, need at least B2 level in French (will figure out how much that is if further considering), not really sure if it's easy to get livable work or housing here.
Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Germany

Ok here’s the situation. I work for a medium sized company that works mostly in the federal contract space. I work in Talent Acquisition, I’m 1 year into the job. We have a newer CHRO as well and she’s decided to hire a VP of TA. Here’s where it gets sticky IMO. We had a work meeting and she announced that they are hiring a VP of TA, that they had someone in mind and were close to closing on. This was all new to us in TA. We have weekly meetings about openings within the company and our recruiting efforts.. VP of TA was never on the list.
So during this meeting she didn’t mention who the person was or any details information about them whatsoever. After the meeting I went into our applicant tracking system and found the req.. a few things about the req.. 1. It was never posted externally to our website or any job boards 2. There was no job description for the role whatsoever. 3. There was one submitted candidate with an offer already sent and accepted. 4. That candidate is the brother of one of our Talent Acquisition Managers. 5. The TA Manager brother had been interacting with the req according to the activities reported by the system (editing profile and submitting the brothers resume).
What rubs me the wrong way about this is 1. The CHRO, Sr. TA manager, and obviously the brother (TA Manager) knew the one and only candidate ever considered for the role is the brother of said TA manager. 2. It has yet to be disclosed to anyone else on the team and it’s easily searchable in our system for anyone interested in looking so why not address it on the front end..? 3. We have an anti nepotism policy in our employee handbook that states that no familial or romantic relationship is allowed to exist in the company where the parties are involved in a leadesubordinate professional relationship OR there is a conflict of interest or appearance of a conflict of interest. 4. The TA Manager brother has a history of VP brother funneling him candidates for his assigned reqs which he has openly admitted to on multiple occasions in our weekly status meetings.
It’s important to note that the TA Manager brother reports to the Sr. TA Manager and the Sr. TA manager will report directly to the VP so there is one layer of leadership between the brothers. Is this a conflict of interest and or does it break our anti nepotism policy?

I have been living all around the world, but now living in Germany again. I also have had some other Jobs, and to be honest, I actually am already thinking of learning something new, althought just finishing my grad. :D I will find something new, for sure. Or not. :D I am open to anyone of every age, religion, whatever- but I would prefer to make actual friends. I speak German, Spanish and English. I'm 25, I've been bootstrapping my first start-up for a year and have a product released. Project isn't finished yet, but I'm really tired of my current day job for a govtech start start-up that's been in national news, which I've been working for two years. How many of you would hire me?

There was a supernatural phenomenon, in which I could transmit my thoughts to others. I had no control of this ability as it was something that happened unexpectedly and prolonged until it stopped someday. The story leading up to this phenomenon is long, but I'll try to keep it short. I started going to church after a certain spiritual experience (which made me truly believe in Jesus despite growing up going to church as a kid). I stopped going to church since I was a teenager because I was ashamed of my homosexuality. However, even after I met Jesus, my shame and guilt (of homosexuality) didn't disappear right away. I feared my imagined "gayness" being seen by people at the church. I spoke normal and dressed normal, but I was still worried about how other people might catch my "invisible" sin (i.e. same sex attraction). At the same time, I had this question of whether I should be sexually attracted to a woman as a Christian. I even thought about watching straight porn to fantasize about a woman so that I could like a woman and be "Christian." I asked my pastor about this. I said, "how should an ideal Christian live?" but he didn't know the context in which I was asking this (I thought I was alluding to it; I didn't have the guts to confess my sin). However I falsely believed that he knew what I meant, and that he wouldn't tell anyone else about it. Then I started doubting that he leaked my secret to other people at the church and together they were trying to make me a heterosexual Christian by praying, forcing me to be in the same room with a girl, etc.. In retrospect, I know this wasn't really happening, but at the time I was so sad and angry that they were doing that to me I went to a different church. Then, after a second Sunday service I attended at the new church, something clicked - the phenomenon. I came home that day and planned to attend the afternoon service at my first church because I thought that with this "ability" I could finally tell everyone what I had gone through as a closeted Christian, how I think it seems wrong to be involuntarily heterosexual and whatnots. However, my family forcibly took me to the hospital and said a bunch of things that weren't true like I was hearing voices and not remembering well to the nurse at the reception. I got locked up in the emergency psych unit and came out diagnosed with "psychosis." On top of what was happening to me at the time (the phenomenon), my family's false testimony of my symptoms resulted in a diagnosis of early psychosis. Doctors perceived the phenomenon as something curable with medicine and whatnots. I feel very misunderstood the way I have been diagnosed and mistreated by my family who could've handled the situation differently and more protectively. I faked taking medication for a year. I put it under my tongue (not swallowing it) after dinner where my family could see it and spit it out in the toilet every day. Honestly, it almost made me go crazy doing this, so I told the doctor about it because she knows for a fact that the phenomenon was real, just not the full story behind it and thankfully she stopped prescribing me the medication. She also suggested psychological testing which could prove that my diagnosis was a mishap
So that was my story and what I want to know is that can a diagnosis be completely removed from my records? What is the best that can be done? A record saying that I have been misdiagnosed would not make it up for the feelings of betrayal and frustration I experienced.
p.s. Although I wish you would, I don't expect everyone to believe my story. At this point, most I care about is making things right. I'm considering renouncing my citizenship if I can't remove this diagnosis (in fact, there's a good possibility that I can get a job in another country after 2 years).

Being fairly new to reddit not sure how to link my pervious post.
Little more background. This spring my wife and kids did a spring break trip without me. I was in a new job and did not have enough PTO built up to go. That is when I discovered reddit. Reading stories obout failed marriages got me seriously thinking about my own. When was the last time I was happy? Do I show my wife how much I truly love her? I got myself down a rabbit hole. Got me really doing a self assessment of myself and my relationship. When my wife got home from the trip I sat her down to talk about my feelings and our relationship. I blamed myself for taking her for granted. Not showing her how much I loved her. Feelings like I was lazy in the marriage and wanted to be the best husband to her. That is when she explained to me that she had felt like a roommate more then a wife to me. I was completely heartbroken by this and vowed to be better for her. Since that talk I have gone out of my way to show her the man she deserves. From doing most of the work around the house to fulfilling her desires. We had a talk about our sexual needs and fantasy. I have done my best to give her all of her fantasies. I been open to trying new things in the bedroom that she has been wanting to do. Even if I was uncomfortable doing it I would try it for her.
Now for the update. I sat my wife down this morning to talk about why she was pushing so hard on my being with another woman. I told her that I feel uncomfortable sleeping with another woman because I love her so much and don't want to go back to being like roommates. Even if she has not fulfilled 100% of my fantasies she has already done more then I would have ever expected. I am truly happy in our marriage now and don't want to change a thing.
She explained to me that she was doing this for a few reasons. 1. She knows that I have done things for her she only dreamed about. She knows that even though I was uncomfortable doing a few things IE.. her pegging me. I let her have that experience. 2. She is starting to develop a kink of me pleasing someone else. She said she knows she is not 100% comfortable with me with another woman, but wants to return the favor of me doing things I was uncomfortable with to fulfill her.
I am still in a bit of shock from this. I told her we will take this slow. I am in no rush and and perfectly happy with not doing it. My only focus is on her happiness right now.

I just got verbally offered a higher paying corporate job and I feel a little bit out of my depth after working in lower management for so long. I haven't gotten a formal written offer yet but thats supposed to be coming in at the end of the week. Even though the pay is good, I was hoping to have an extra 5k-10k/year because it is a position that would require me to move to a different city.
I guess my question is should I email them now and negotiate the salary before they complete the offer letter or should I wait until the offer letter is in my hands?

Hi BWT! I’m new to this sub as I recently moved to New York from Canada. My fiancé got a once in a lifetime job opportunity in NYC so we decided to make the move. We’ve been here about a month and a half.
I have been job searching non-stop and have had some preliminary interviews and got very far along with one company but it didn’t pan out.
I have a degree in accounting and finance from a top Canadian university and have ~3.5 years of experience working at two Canadian banks within corporate banking, commercial banking, and corporate finance.
I’m searching for roles in the banking sector at the analyst or associate level. One of the main challenges is that I require sponsorship to work in the US, but there are options as a Canadian citizen.
As much as I’m loving NYC, not having a job has been really hard on me because I care a lot about what I do and I really miss being busy. Does anyone have any recommendations or tips?
